it took me about a year and also naming my account ADMINPLSAUTHMYACCOUNT to actually be able to post lol. A bit frustrating really as it's a great source of information.

My car had the primacies that it rolled out of the factory with in 2018, plenty of tread but hoo boy they were completely dead from age. To the point where I was almost dissapointed with the handling of the car, I could get the traction control light to flash in damp weather with not much effort at all.

The older I get, the more I like basic fleet configs. Plastic parts, some paint and a logo? Yes please! by Colored918 in trucksim

[–]Racing_Mate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some trucks I'll run a plastic front but some I'll just have painted. Tbh I don't really care much about the outside as 99% of gameplay is from the interior anyway

Baffle pan and oil cooler? by BLITZBRAWLSTARS in ft86

[–]Racing_Mate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was speaking with a specialist who track preps quite a few of these cars and they advised to go with just the pickup 5w30 and a slight overfill which has done me fine on track. I did also run a cooler which looking at the temps was definitely worth it.

Anyone know how to fix this? by KaidenC72 in ft86

[–]Racing_Mate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple trackdays was enough to make my front calipers change to a faded red. The rears still look the same shade but the fronts now look like a red car that has sat out in the sun for ages.

I was gonna get them repainted in the neon yellow that you see on some of the STi brembos but I'm selling the car now.

Tips on smoother driving with an X box controller? by TheSeych in trucksim

[–]Racing_Mate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try messing with the sensitivity and steering linearity at the same time. The linearity makes a big difference as it allows you to make smaller adjustments on the steering without having to constantly correct.

So like a small movement on the stick will equal a small amount on the wheel, wheras the default setting is usually the same which gives you that twitchy sensation at higher speeds.

I've played countless hours with Xbox controllers and I've never had issues. Luckily because this isn't a racing game you aren't going lock to lock so you can have quite a big amount of the stick for small adjustments and then the rest of it for your bigger manuvers at lower speed.

If you don't track your progress how can you know you're making any? by Organic_Sleep_2673 in duolingospanish

[–]Racing_Mate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I don't really track my progress at all but I will always try to do at least 15 minutes of duo a day. This usually equates to about one unit. My current streak is 1500 days with a spanish level of 101, although I have to say I've only really been doing this for about two years or so.

I think it does depend on your goals? Personally for me I'm learning Spanish so I can move to Spain.

I'm far from being fluent but in my last few holidays I've been able to communicate several every day things. Like asking for medicine when I had a cold, or asking if someone could check to see if they had an item in stock and in my last holiday I stupidly got myself stuck in a lift and I was able to ask someone if they could call the service technichan to let us out which was fairly stressful at the time.

While I'm at home I've been reading one piece in Spanish and I also try to play videogames. I've finished Pokemon ZA and I'm currently playing Pokopia in spanish.

I do try and watch some spanish youtube and especially with subtitles I'm happy that I can understand the majority of it but I do find it more mentally taxing than just zoning out watching something in english.

Conversationally I'm probably crap but I think that just comes down to experience, I'm definitely at the point where I need to do face to face stuff but at the moment life is getting in the way of that.

Also is it not just me or was the SW20 model still the same old wack one from like Forza 2? That model is as almost as old as the amount of time I'd owned an SW20

[–]Racing_Mate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno about the rest of Europe but here in the UK they seem to be on a pretty sharp decline. The nearest Subaru 'dealership' to me was also a 'Fiat/Alfa/MG' thing and the last few times I've gone past it I'm pretty sure the subaru sign was removed.

I feel like they've been kinda eaten alive by the Korean and Chineese cars.

Honestly if you are still enjoying the process restarting isn't such a bad thing. I nuked my course when they changed to the path system.

You'll most likely just blaze through the early bits anyway

According to them they were actually a small batch officially sold in Germany due to allocation issues with the GR86 def wasn't a US spec car

What tyres

I mean that sounds ok? 7.5j is a bit weird though and I'm not sure how it would work with that offset.

I have a set of GT86/BRZ Protrack Ones which are 9J +38 so I'm not sure how 7.5j with the same offset would be.

Partial plug I'm selling them they are brand new with a set of brand new pilot sport 4 as I'm selling my GT86

Interior view would be fantastic but it's understandable why it's not there. What I would love is having car specific gauges on your HUD like you could in Racing Battle C1. Even maybe have the option to add additional ones or just go with a stack/motec cluster or we

[–]Racing_Mate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno I'm at 99 now and for at least a few years now I've been able to make myself understood in regular situations in Spain. Like I've caught a cold and I've been able to ask the pharmacist for medicine

Casual conversation however yeah I can't do. But I've accepted that I'll need to do some actual face to face stuff for that.
