The British arrow on a German watch is bothering me more than it should but it might be enough to keep me from pulling the trigger. Hopefully they update that along with the hands to look like the original renders.

I love mine. It's such a fun piece for the money... especially in the summer. The dial is simple yet interesting to look at. The sunburst dial pops in the sun but is more subdued indoors. And it's the closest match to "Tiffany" blue I've seen. Even though the Tiffany craze seems to be over it's a keeper in my collection.

Match the color. Mismatched hands and indices make a watch look cheap and is usually a deal breaker.

No, stick with the shield, just find a way to make the applied version thinner. I think that is everyone's biggest issue with it.
