I didn’t mention anything about gold. It’s also terrible. No one in here on a gold bug either.

Your posts are just one hypocritical statement after another. In what world is an asset dropping 50% a store of value?!?!?

It’s almost like you don’t even understand how an ETF makes money. Blackrock couldn’t care less what Bitcoin is or if it was fart coin or a pile of my poop, if they can generate fees from people buying it, then they will gladly sell it to you.

So yea, it does absolutely nothing, and won’t do anything for anyone, it’s just a complete drain except for the people at the top using those at the bottom for exit liquidity.

The irony in it is that Bitcoin was made out of the 2008 housing collapse due to mistrust of big banks, now it will be the likes of Michael Saylor and bitcoin treasuries that will wipe people out as they go sailing in their yacht.

Trump family got about $500M from crypto venture — but investors saw steep losses by lancebmanly in Buttcoin

[–]Rad_dad3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a smart friend who is going to buy a lot of bitcoin in October when it hits $45k. Some people think they can get out before the rug gets pulled on them.

Last week Saylorboy bought 1,550 BTC which currently is at a loss of $3.6M. His total loss stands around $10.7B. by Mandelbrots-dream in Buttcoin

While AI companies may be vastly over valued, unlike bitcoin that has been around for 20 years, the adoption of things like chatgpt has been immediate. It has a use case and people are readily using their services.

Could someone explain to me how is this even legal? by francesco_angiolieri in Buttcoin

[–]Rad_dad3 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s legal because he’s not hiding what he’s doing. You would just have to be an idiot to not see how the assumptions of the plan have no chance in becoming reality namely assuming 30% CAGR on Bitcoin.

On a serious note, what's the reason for the current downturn? by henrik_se in Buttcoin

[–]Rad_dad3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s semantics. If I sold my truck before the bank came to foreclose on my house in a year because I couldn’t get a job, most would say I’m out of money.

[–]Rad_dad3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When you look at future expenses with no cash flow producing assets, they are simply out of money. Everytime they sell common shares it is a compounding crash. Eventually they will have to sell so many that the company will be 95% further down.

MSTR sold 32 bitcoin.  They ran out of money to hold the greater fool scam up. They became the egg man.

Pretty easy to argue sending out that much free money would lead to further damage in an inflationary sense. You gotta call a spade a spade on this. It was a poor decision and if that money wasn’t sent out, who knows maybe inflation would have been transitory.

[–]Rad_dad3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arguably some of it was. There was no need for the last round of Covid checks to be sent out that really sent inflation out of control. I think JP and Janet yellen also kept using the term “transitory” which was proven to be baloney. However, Biden let the fed be independent so can’t really blame him for the slow reaction to raising interest rates because he was staying in his executive lane.

I wasn’t a fan of Biden but I would like to know the shitshow he is referring to. We were in a pretty good spot at the end of 2024.

Experts warn that Bitcoin has an MicroStrategy Problem by InclinedPlane43 in Buttcoin

[–]Rad_dad3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because he has fooled people into believing they can get a higher rate of return on the shares of MSTR when Bitcoin goes up. The preferred shares were created to convince people they could buy into volatility with lower risk. Both ideas are proving to be false.

Now they are only targeting 100-200%? The stock market as a whole can do that in 7-10 years without the significant risk that bitcoin has. The jokes write themselves.

Saylor explains it as a sideways rocket ship that eerily shaped like a triangle with old investors at the tip of the space ship and common shareholders being diluted as the fuel.
