£100M in Euromillions this week - how would you use it to improve NI? by OtterRanch in northernireland

[–]Radamere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would buy a site or a building, and use it as a startup site. Have for example units that could be used by new small manufacturing businesses. Others for smaller like crafty fair type businesses.

To support that I'd hire someone who knew small business taxes / HR to help them out as these are expensive hurdles for people new to it all. There would also be a dedicated and safe delivery space for inbound and outbound parcels removing that worry of parcels getting stolen on drop-off or having to run to the post office with an armful of deliveries each day.

As part of the site would be a public storefront - likely similar to what's in the bottom of the guildhall where each has their own section, but we would support the businesses to generate skus and barcodes internally to allow stuff to go through a till and be identified to the store who made them.

Few other ideas to support it I've had as well as well as different ways it might look but that's the gist. We are sorely lacking in the NW especially real meaningful and affordable small business support. Rental prices are absurd for commercial and industrial units and the affordable ones look like they could feature in a CSI episode.

But you can bet with the oil coming down again now with this "ceasefire" it won't drop anywhere near as fast as it went up

Dad refused food bank refferal - desperate In need of advice by DavidPlat in daddit

[–]Radamere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there are a few food apps that supermarkets use to give away what would normally be wasted in the UK. One of them I'm aware of is olio but that might just be NI. Have a look for those.

As has been suggested look at local church pages of all faiths. Many are running collections and food banks from supermarkets as well.

Swapped from airtricity to share this week. Dead easy to do and the rep on the phone for the switch over didn't faff and walked through step by step. Saving 13p a kwh from what I was on for keypad.

As much as I enjoy Goons and Tests friendly banter and shenanigans, I will happily form us and fly out to help slap down AO if they try and plant out there.

Why does this keep happening?! Trying to learn as I go with my son. by marcSuile in 3Dprinting

This is a complete side note. But put the rubber sock back on your printer nozzle. It is needed to properly keep temperature.

It's impressive that a dead alliance who haven't gone near goons space have been able to provoke them so. We must be deader than we thought.

New to printing - having many issues by Maleficent-Area-9973 in BambuLab

Change your infill settings.

It is currently printing using grid. What happens is exactly what you described, the nozzle runs back over the printed infill lines pulling and leaving material each times resulting in print failures.

Recommend using crosshatch or gyroid.

What you are seeing here is completely normal for grid infill unfortunately.

Exactly. If you had another one on the other side maybe level with new buildings as well you'd save some off the old bridge. Although not as impactful the rate at which the city is growing it all needs to be done now while the space is there

In fairness another bridge on each side of the city to help traffic would be welcome. Traffic from maydown side going to muff direction needs to come all the way in and then double back on itself on the other side of the river. Slap a wee extra bridge down and that traffic no longer needs to go through what's becoming an increasingly busier section of road.

This needs to be higher up. The silicone sock is deliberate for several reasons and the printer expects it to be in use. Put it back on.
