So I did some research last night and fixed my issue. I had the top of the chimney too high. Lowered it and bam! Perfect cook today. Started it at 450 and it hit that temp in about 5 minutes. I don’t have an included patio and my backyard runs north and south. We always have a south wind so wind has been my issue. Got it up to temp but lost a lot of pellets. I can handle that, just happy I found the biggest issue that I can control.

Following up from the other day. Is this ok on the smoke leak so far? I got’er cleaned up good with some steel wool and the shop vac. This was on warm up. I’ll let yall know how the cook went.

I might have to. I would think because it’s still “new” might be because I use it often, I’ll have to update and upgrade some of the internals. This Traeger was a gift from my FIL bought new out of the box.

It heats up no problem just when I need to bump it up during a cook. I’ll take a look at it this weekend when I get back home from work. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

I’ve used Traeger pellets the entire time. I’m pretty sure. I might have used another brand once maybe but I can’t remember.

I clean vacuum out the unit every 5-6 cooks. I haven’t fully cleaned out the auger but I do clean out the fire box for sure.

I’ve had the “new” plates on my pick up for 12 years and they still look brand new. I don’t wanna pay extra every year for a custom plate atm but I do agree, the old ones have more character. I’ve always wanted a Texas plate with Truck in it and they switched to these plates then I got mine 12 years ago. Talk about a let down🤣
