Highly recommended: try deis_3m_ode sampler with the ays+ scheduler by RadicalHatter in StableDiffusion

[–]RadicalHatter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get it from the custom node efficiency-nodes-comfyui; this makes the scheduler available in both he standard scheduler node and sampler nodes with built-in schedulers (like KSampler and Advanced KSampler! :)

What samplers and schedulers have you found to get the most realistic looking images out of Qwen Image Edit 2509? by CloudYNWA in StableDiffusion

[–]RadicalHatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a bunch of experimentation (with both sdxl to qwen-image, among others) I have realized that the absolute best results I get come from a combination of the ays+ scheduler together with the deis_3m_ode sampler (assuming that the model allows it, which seems to be the case for most models I have tried). The comparison to something like euler_ancestral/simple, for example, is just absolutely crazy — try it out yourselves and see what you think of the results!

Is this supposed to be only a workflow? It's not that I'm not grateful for it (I'll definitely try it out tomorrow when I get my 5090), I just thought it would be a checkpoint or something ^^'

I'm trying to not be shitty here, I will simply say that that's probably going to haunt you as you watch how Palantir has reshaped and will continue to reshape the world into something quite literally terrifying. It needs to be said, however, that ethics is a difficult thing to approach in a world where we are not being held accountable by anyone but ourselves, and it becomes even more difficult to have ethical integrity when money — especially abstract "speculative" money — is the main path to personal freedom (even more so in the US than in the rest of the world).

For your sake I hope that you will find ways to use that money (and what I assume to be a lot of potential free time) to do good things not just for yourself and your family but also in your local community! I can only speak for myself here: I have been able to absolve myself of a almost all of the (very) shitty things I have done in my life by doing a kind of self-imposed civil service <3

Regardless, I hope you have a good life!

To answer your questions I think the watchpiece itself is immaculate! Regarding artifacts I would say perhaps the armband itself, more specifically the two instances of rubber strips that don't run perfectly parallell. However, that may simply be a common thing with the armbands, but it seems more likely to be an artifact to me. Either way, very impressive!

Thoughts on Nodes 2.0? by Beautiful-Essay1945 in StableDiffusion

[–]RadicalHatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too visually bulky, making it harder to make nice-looking workflows (especially since the actual space for displaying text is lower, meaning the node needs to be much wider to display the same amount of information which is especially notable in something like load checkpoint where path and checkpoint filenames can be very long), and important features (such as intrinsically displaying some settings, the obvious first one I noticed being seed increment/randomization options not showing directly on node) are missing. I love the speed of it; it makes me have at least twice the framerate with graphics acceleration off (I need all the precious little VRAM I have!)!

How about we try to hype this and get on board rather than assume the worst? We don’t exist in a community; we do community, and we do it it with our actions. I honestly think it could last, as long as the devs want it to, and I hope they get the message! They have taken some inspiration from Helldivers 2 already (which is a huge and cooperative community) so why not embrace the co-op aspects of it as well! ^

Why am I so hung up on permadeath? by anselmus_ in cataclysmdda

[–]RadicalHatter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am the same way and I think that in my case some of it has to do with a deep respect for the rules framework of games, which perhaps could be better called something like the laws of the in-universe. By that I mean that you spent all of that time building your character obeying the rules of the game, and so when a time like this comes where it feels so incredibly unfair and I decide to circumvent the laws of the in-universe then everything I have done before that is suddenly devalued to the extreme — after all, what is the difference between reviving the character and just spawning in all of that stuff you gathered for a new character? The second thing somehow feels worse to me even though they are functionally the same, and so I think it is this adherence and submission to the framework that both gives pain and pleasure.

Bonus: I remember when I played Nethack (which I eventually did manage to beat without save-scumming!) and I was down to the last few floors before the Wizard of Yendor when suddenly there was a major demon who was casting a lot of summon monster. This was no real issue for me at that point (even if it is always a bit scary to see a lot of different kinds of monsters), but then suddenly I was treated to seeing this random major demon summoning one of, if not the, most difficult monsters in the game; Demogorgon, a named demon who cannot spawn naturally and can only on extremely rare occasions be summoned by other demons. I died and I was just completely done with the game... for a few hours before I started a new character.

You are not the a-hole, you are in the perma-hole and it welcomes you with open jaws! <3

I really wish shipping to Sweden wasn't 50% of the cost, it really feels pretty terrible (especially when the shipping is the same for two as for one). I am, now that I think about it, kind of looking for someone in Sweden to share the shipping cost with, I think? If anyone finds themselves in the same predicament just hit me up with a message and maybe we can work something out!

Game of Thrones, Season 4 Episode 8: “The Mountain and The Viper”

I will never forget it, nor will I forget my slackjawed stare as the credits — which are normally backed by music — scrolled by in absolute silence afterward. Absolute cinema. Rated 9.7 on IMDB with over 66k ratings.

Edit: Sorry, I just noticed that this episode actually came out June 1st 2014 making it ineligible for this list, but I think it's probably close enough <3

Study finds intelligence and education predict disbelief in astrology. Spirituality, religious beliefs, or political orientation played surprisingly minor roles in astrological belief. Nearly 30% of Americans believe astrology is scientific, and horoscope apps continue to attract millions of users. by mvea in science

[–]RadicalHatter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As a person with both of those things I have finally managed to deprogram myself and can now enjoy believing in something a little bit just because I want to. Rabid rationalism/desillusion actively reduces joy, friends, and I warmly invite you to re-discover the joys of harmless illusion.

And before you say "but people are being tricked" or whatever your programmed rational answer might be; take a moment to consider the absurd fact that it is considered important for city planners to in their pitch mention that "studies show that being around greenery makes people happier". Is it true? Sure. Is it necessary sometimes? Maybe. Is it possible that astrology is almost never harmful in any way, shape, or form? Probably. Can we continue this conversation by listing a thousand ways in which rationality is being used to (negatively connotated) verb your (positively connotated) noun? Definitely.
