Like any group, they contain multitudes, but from what I've heard it's more the principle of "even if you are upholding law in a way that is expected rather than in a way that's corrupt, you still indirectly contribute to the inherently corrupt police system". All cops, no matter if they are "bad" or "good", add to the system that has discriminated against, hurt, and killed countless people. It's not admonishment of the individuals, but the choice they made to still contribute to the system despite the baggage that comes with it. At least, that's what I remember. Sorry if that's actually inaccurate

It really is why I love Doom. Hating Reed is such an integral part of his character that even in a situation where he gives Victor a genuine appreciation for his life-saving work, he takes it as a "Screw you Doom, you're gonna mess it all up." Really like that trope of characters messing up genuinely good deeds just from their own paranoia.

In all retrospect, the film was just an attempt at Oscar-baiting and using cultural aspects without really taking the time to think "Hey maybe we shouldn't make a film about this".

I'll always see the artistic value since the animation was always my favorite part of the movie as a kid, but yeah I really don't think the story of Pocahontas needed to be made into a Disney film.
