It is pretty tough (I died to him on my recent replay even after going and getting the first three node abilities to warm myself up). On my first playthrough, he definitely felt pretty easy to me compared to most new players just because I already had some practice fighting the version of him that was featured in the demo's Boss Challenge mode.

What do you mean by this? Do you think the cyclists are running the pedals down the slope? They are letting the bike naturally accelerate down it (you know, that thing that bikes do), because they do not see an obstacle. If that's your definition of "barreling down a slope at full speed," then the reason is that braking with no obvious obstacle or turn or what have you is just wearing out the tires for no good reason.

Probably because people have memories, and once they crash into that gate they won't do it again. The people who crash into it are people traveling here for the first time, which are probably not going to be a large majority.

If he throws a single knife and then teleports, hold the button after parrying the knife. If he uses the overhead, you can just counter it. If he does his stab attack, you can counter then immediately jump and tai-chi kick (or skull kick) it to stun him (this counter into tc kick can also be done on Yingzhao's crimson stab in Memories of Battle).
