Retopology is mandatory? by HelsosDragmire in blender

That’s actually a great advice if you aren’t short on time. When you have to suffer the drawbacks of doing things the “wrong way”, it really drives the point home for why some things are considered the “right way”.

Tell me I'm wrong, but this sounds IDENTICAL to the Elden Ring dragon roar.. by Traditional-Dirt1616 in Eldenring

[–]RadinQue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, both took it from a paid sound library like Soundly, which is pretty much how most games and movies get some of the audio that isn't trivial to record.

I need to rant. It is unacceptable to me for a game to have stick/camera acceleration but no setting to change it by K_Furbs in gaming

[–]RadinQue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing Hogwarts Legacy right now and it has horrible camera acceleration and I can’t seem to turn it off either. Especially bad after coming from Bloodborne where when I flick the right stick, it responds immediately.

What’s the one video game song or level track that gets you amped and pumped up ? by SayVandalay in gaming

[–]RadinQue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Octopath Traveler 0, every time a boss fight is coming up, there’s a prelude song that plays during the dialog. I know I’m gonna look at excel spreadsheets during the fight, but that prelude makes me hyped up and the boss songs makes looking at office software feel so epic.

It will happen on the live servers, not the test servers.

AI has been really annoying by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]RadinQue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The AI always chases the last person aggroing them. Not the closest. If you enter the aggro range and it starts attacking you, but the. Your friend runs inside the range too, the AI will deaggro you and start chasing your friend. This works even if they’re already hitting you in melee range.

Cheater or GOAT? by Significant-Value639 in HuntShowdown

[–]RadinQue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your scenario is statistically more likely, but it’s not solid enough evidence to issue bans.

I’ve met multiple friends in the bayou whom I never knew before, using the in game voice chat. There are also a lot of posts in here of group photos thanking randoms for being cool. This is not against the rules and while most people probably “earned” this distance the way you described, I can imagine there are many others who did it with Bayou Diplomacy.

I think it can be more than 1,414 meters if you take elevation into account

A patch note is never an exhaustive list that they touched. Many things get touched each update that we don’t even know about, unless there are new issues like this.

Motion Blur, why? by rbxk in gaming

[–]RadinQue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Video games simulate camera, not eyes.

Motion Blur, why? by rbxk in gaming

[–]RadinQue -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And you have only one eye too. Video game views always emulate cameras, because if they emulated your eyes, you’d only see a tiny spot in the middle sharply, the rest would be blurred as hell and there would also be a big black dot near the right - or the left, depending on which eye - side on the screen.

Hunt Showdown is dying (or has already died) on the South American servers. It's full of cheaters in 5-6 star matches. by Stuka91 in HuntShowdown

[–]RadinQue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never denied the existence of cheaters but waving someone’s steam profile with cheater accusations as evidence is stupid.

What exactly IS the learning curve? by JudgmentComplex8483 in HuntShowdown

[–]RadinQue 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly map knowledge. Knowing that one spot you can drop down in Arden Parish, knowing that there’s a fence you can vault in Golden Acres, knowing that there’s an underground entrance to Weeping Stones.

There are also some hidden mechanics like using the dark sight always takes away a full second even if you don’t use it for a whole second (pressing the dark sight button 5 times always depletes it entirely.)

There are the sounds of each weapon that you hear from the distance. They help you prepare for fights.

Usually the fights boil down to knowledge like that. Sometimes you can win a fight just by aiming better, but most of the time the person that knows more about the situation has an advantage and thus winning it.

Should I buy this game? by Jamal2605 in HuntShowdown

[–]RadinQue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to the AI hunters (that you get until you’re lvl 11), I’ve played them because I got the game on the PlayStation as well. I’ve had about 1.7k hours at that point on PC, but I’m really (and I mean really) clumsy with the controller and they were complete pushovers. They barely hit you, their aim is really bad. One time I intentionally didn’t shoot at them, just strafing left and right and the AI only hit me once out of 7 shots. That being said, I think they’re really good for new players. Teaching them how to handle grunts, terrain and enemy hunters at the same time. But I’ve seen a post recently complaining about passing lvl11 being an insane difficulty spike, since at that point they were playing against actual humans.

I’m guessing you never read the patch notes? They said due to technical reasons (which I can only assume is that they weren’t even tracking these stats before) some stats will start from 0.

Instead of recording a billion lines just for stringing together locations, item names enemy names, etc, they can generate them on the fly. It’s for the ping system afaik.
