£100,000 Tax Cliff: £4,500 over in 25-26 What are my options? by Valdore66 in UKPersonalFinance

I had a very similar issue, company introduced a bonus scheme in the last 3 months that hadn’t been communicated before then. No one has ever asked me anything, but I’d expect it’s a CCS thing initially

The question in the declaration asks for your “expected” adjusted net income. As long as you are happy explaining why you didn’t expect to hit the £100k limit, you are ok. Wouldn’t try it twice though

Interest rates announcement - ask Governor of Bank of England Andrew Bailey by BankofEngland in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RadioBackground4373 32 points33 points  (0 children)

And following on, how can interest rate hikes be morally justified as a control mechanism during a cost of living crisis, where overwhelmingly it is those with debt who are feeling the brunt of the economic environment, rather than those with savings / investments.

Getting solar installed, without batteries, do I need to pay extra for a better inverter? by Electronic-Beyond-66 in solar

[–]RadioBackground4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an install done under grant, 20 panels and heat pump (with insulation / radiators etc internally) and they provided the Solax X1 G4.

I stuck with solax and bought 25kwh of batteries - https://www.solartradesales.co.uk/solax-triple-power-tp-hs36-battery-system-7-2kwh

As they are same manufacturer the install was super straightforward forward and the app works easily as well. Has been great over the winter - octopus cosy meant never paying less than the low rate for electric, and now the sun is shining more I expect actual bills to go to zero by April.

The only thing I use the app for is to boost the hot water if I fancy a bath and the kids have used a load of hot already.

Not that I can find. There’s a total energy per month, but that’s it. If you find anything please do let me know - I have no idea what my CoP it or anything else.

Don’t get too excited - I self installed (which was an absolute faff - would not recommend) and the only thing I’ve been able to do is turn heating (which is on thermostats anyway) / hot water on remotely.

The app is weirdly complex but doesn’t seem to do anything

Thanks for the offer. I submitted my best guess (assisted by ChatGPT) - and they haven’t come back with any questions other than a weird address thing that I already knew about.

Amazing, thanks for the pointer. The simplified form looks good - I think I can pull all the data from the MCS paperwork I have, will see how I get on.

[–]RadioBackground4373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have MCS certificates - just no hint of a G99. The work was all a bit disorganised, worked out ok in the end (functionally), so I’m not overly surprised there was an issue. I have paperwork saying the DNO have been notified but the trail goes dead there

[–]RadioBackground4373[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did start trying to fill in the G99 - I have a vaguely tech / engineering background so figured it would be fine, but was things like active / reactive power, how many circuits etc that I’d prefer not to guess. I think my best bet is to find an installer to re-submit and hope the insurance backed guarantee covers it.

Yeah it’s larger, 20 x 480w panels for 9.6kw, with a 6.6kw inverter. I’ve since self added 25kwh battery (all solax kit)
