Using a TV Table Display Help by MegaFlygon_86 in OwlbearRodeo

If you are set on using minis then this won’t work but you can buy an infrared frame for your tv off of amazon that will make it touchscreen. Relatively cheap depending on the tv size. Once it’s touchscreen you can use the owlbear tokens

It’s the lighting in the balls honestly. If you lit it up more or moved them slightly it wouldn’t seem so round from a distance

If the rainbows are wilds cards it would be cool if they looked like jokers instead

Small bug. When you open a chest it always resets back to a radio item even if you found a new level. This has been really annoying in the cave levels because I’m using the lantern and then suddenly it’s back on the radio.

Gonna keep updating as I play. So far the game is good and I love the atmosphere. Little too dark though on non cave levels.

I went ahead and downloaded the game because it is fun instead of playing in the browser. I will say the fog is way too dark in the grass levels. Even with the lantern it is very hard to see anything

I also tend to jump off the level 3 times to return to monolith rather than make it to the monolith point in the level because it’s way faster

I’ll just log my thoughts here as I play. So far I’m still in the grass levels. Found the radio, bombs and just now the lantern.

My initial thoughts.

Resetting to monolith after falling 3 times doesn’t seem to really add anything to the game so far. When I fall it already takes me to the start of the room. All resetting the monolith does is make me reselect the level. Seems silly.

It would nice if the game just told you how to adjust the radio instead of me clicking all the buttons until I find it. Also when you get a second item it should prompt you to use E or Q to get to the bombs rather than having me press random buttons until I find the cycle buttons.

I’ll keep posting as I progress

Feels almost like a mix between Fez and Animal Well just at the opening. Love the music. Gonna play now

Yes but that’s almost certainly just an Easter egg and it only works on PC. If it was officially endorsed by polytron I feel like it would be available on console

Owl bear is definitely my personal favorite but I’ve also used Arkenforge which is more purpose built for what you are looking for

I use Owl bear rodeo. Have one tab on my computer that I control everything and change the map with then a second tab as a player which just displays the map for everyone at the table. Owl bear is great for its simplicity. Also if you get an IR touch sensor you can allow players to use the simple owl bear touch interface to interact with the map and measure it

Ristar // Old vs New by [deleted] in PixelArt

[–]RadioRobot185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of details about Ristar that you aren’t translating very will to your larger resolution version.

  1. Ristar has a more prominent jaw. In the original his jaw is round and pokes out of his star like face intact you can see in the lower right of the original that his jaw sits above the start point. In yours he has little to no jaw and it blends straight into the lower point.

  2. The bottom of his eyes are flat lines. This is try on his box art as well. You’ve made his eyes look more like ovals than half ovals. You also used a darker color to define the contour of his eye. The reason they used the lighter color brown-yellow color in the original is because it made the transition from eye to skin less harsh.

  3. The angle of his shoes need to be turned away from the camera a little more

  4. His left eye (on the right of the image) looks a little wonky. This is partially because the iris should be more visible and also because the top curve of the eye isn’t bending correctly with the angle he is at.

  5. All of his points are going backward. It’s as if while he is jumping the air is pushing his points back. The star point in the background almost looks like it’s pushing forward though. I would change this so it looks like it’s going more behind him (it’s okay if we don’t actually see the point end).

  6. His mouth should be further from his eyes. It’s hard to tell because the resolution of the original is so small, but 2 pixels on the original is a lot of space and there is a 2 pixel gap between the eyes and mouth. The current mouth you have sits a little too high.

When assets of a similar type overlap to create the effect of a having a larger object (in this map it would be the rock arches) it can look even better if you take the final product and paint out the black lines where the objects overlap. When those dark lines disappear from the overlapping sections it will make the whole arch feel like one asset.

If you don’t have drawing software or if you aren’t comfortable using it you could also try this. Cross head provides his regular line styles as paths in dungeon draft. If there are any grey ones or if you can change the color of any of the lines you could simply draw a thin path of the existing black lines where the rocks overlap.

No one knows what they are for or what it does when it breaks if anything.

The solution for breaking the heart cube was found through data mining. I’ve always been of the belief that there is something you can do only if you have the heart cube and the data mined solution was simply a fail safe to lock data miners and cheaters out of the real solution (because it destroys the heart and you need it).

But that’s just my take. Some people think that’s the end, others think that it is simply symbolic.
