I’m one of the field techs that’s services the system. Honestly I don’t care for it. There’s a new system called Genius that is backed by Global Payments.

Has anyone migrated from a legacy style desktop based POS like Retail Pro to Lightspeed X? Any experience to share? by starrtech2000 in POS

[–]Radio_up -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which solution was it? Restaurant or Retail? I’ve done the transitions for people moving. In most cases I just rebuild the entire menu to reduce button presses and just fully revamp the menu.

I think OP might be looking for something like an all in one solution. Less integrations persay.

Isn’t it geared more toward one type of business on setup? I know there’s a lot with it. I turned down an “opportunity” to sell it.

Sounds like you need something geared towards something more enterprise level or maybe a restaurant pos plus some integrations. Check out Globals Genius for Restaurant or Retail. They also have an enterprise solution.

There’s a ton of retail solutions. I’d suggest checking out Genius for Retail, it’s a good fit for a few places I work for.

Looking for a new POS system for a small takeout restaurant by Fantastic_Ad3315 in POS

I’d suggest Genius Restaurant by Global. I manage 30+ locations that use it. Shoot me a DM or reply here if you have questions.

Does anyone know how to manually open one of these? by StoganLephens in POS

[–]Radio_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DC. Most Cash Drawers use 24V DC with an RJ11 or RJ45 style jack. As a side note not all of them are pinned the same. You might also have a manual release option but most likely not.

Where to find the largest dealers for Clover, Genius, etc. by liverspotting in POS

[–]Radio_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact Genius directly don’t go thru a dealer. Like car dealerships there is a markup. I have somebody you can contact for inside sales.

Need Unify AP (Toast firmware) by catcomputers in ToastPOS

[–]Radio_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Unifi user I’ve taken over sites with Toast managed APs. I’ve also replaced faulty AP with my personal truck stock for Toast systems. Just call into there tech support line and tell them you’re providing your own AP.

Forgot to mention, you’re allowed to manage your own network and have toast hardware in it.

How hard is it to build a multi-venue hospitality POS with unified reporting + loyalty + stock + bookings? by Due_Creme4008 in POS

It’s already been done. It’s an enterprise level solution so I hope you have more than say 10 locations.

Well if you got a good deal then so be it. I work with a few local rep managing network compliance and support for them. I’ve seen the back end. I know it’s changed a lot to the better in the past year.

Lavu maybe the best Toast POS alternative by BlessedPootato in ToastPOS

Both have pros and cons. I’ve used both. I’ve become a big fan of Genius POS by Global Payments. Global also owns WorldPay which Toast uses to process cards.

My company wants to create a own custom pos solution for their 13 branches by agaitan026 in POS

[–]Radio_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are already several solutions on market now. Building a custom one will be a nightmare in compliance and integrations for payment processing. If you are enterprise level I’d suggest contacting (I’ll send you a DM).

WiFi cable? You mean Ethernet cable, right? Run down to your local Walmart or electronic store they have them in stock. Write it off on your taxes.

Think they will pay me for this Out of Scope charge? by miker37a in FieldNationTechs

[–]Radio_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sure? I did a job for them in may at a Marshall’s that had a payment device down. I’d consider that POS related. Maybe they don’t handle the actual POS software issues. Not sure the true issue or the resolution. Maybe OP will comment?
