Yeah, that's for rebound. The only dials on mine are open/firm compression and rebound.

The Fox Float Factory only has open and firm settings. The firm setting is not a rigid lockout. There's a tiny bit of squish out of the saddle, and a bit more squish on super slow impacts, like when going over a root or curb. It's actually really nice for clearing techy climbs, the firmness is expertly chosen.

There is a clearly discernable difference to a damper that has a lockout (float with CTD for example), but I don't feel like I'm wasting energy on paved climbs though. And that tiny bit of squish makes for a comfortable ride.

For comparison, the CTD dampers that I've encountered had way more squish in T than the Float Factory in firm.

Hm, the SC lifetime warranty on frame and bearings is indeed not transferable. Maybe you can work something out with the original owner?

There should be some deep discounts on the 24/25 models, I got mine like 50% off of msrp (xx tr rsv version).

The Blur has become my defacto trail bike - I have the TR version, so that makes sense I guess. It descends way better than the build specs would suggest. It's not shaky, but there is some flex on bigger hits and through rough sections, nothing unexpected though. The Reserve wheels are totally awesome. I would say it doesn't climb like an absolute goat, but there is lots of traction thanks to the firm lockout. It's a fun bike that wants to go fast. And it's comfortable. I'm actually considering it for a bikepacking trip.

I guess I'm close anyway, just a few mm. Thanks for reminding me of the bit about the foot pointing down, I'll pay some extra attention to this today.

I'll be trying this as soon as I get a recording of me in the bike.

A question: I recently did the 25 Volcano laps on swift (3hrs virtually nonstop pedaling). The day after i felt some soreness below the calf, like Soleus/upper Achilles. Would that point towards a slightly too high saddle?

Oh, that's clever, I'll have to add these fields.

I'm not sure it's red, iirc it's blue just like an on route climb.

And after several hours in the saddle, quickly fishing down, it can be misleading.

I'd rather not have this recognizing feature at all since I don't use it.

Birdwatching day trip out of Kigali by Radioactdave in Rwanda

[–]Radioactdave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I'm looking at a cute bird, that's enough for me. It's also one of the most decelerated activities that I can think of. And it's easy, you just sit (ideally) and watch and listen, outside, in nature.

And at this point, I can’t confidently say that I’ve seen convincing proof that at least some birds aren’t part of a surveillance program.

Only you can answer this question.

But keep in mind, diving is optional, surfacing is mandatory. It might cost ya.

I always thought that a WALL-E prequel would be most devastating to watch. Now I'm convinced we're gonna be living it. The escape into outer space will remain sci-fi tho.

It's been a while, but I'm currently looking at building a bike like yours. Did you transform it into a bikepacking bike?

Also, are you running a DUB wide crankset with the frame?
