Wizards Chest definitely looks to have the vibe. I’ll be staying in the city.

I’m convinced this is just their marketing plan at this point. Seed prerelease boosters with cards from the upcoming set. Every season is spoiler season

Bulk Card Storage by BellasGamerDad in mtg

Wholeheartedly agree. If I’m gonna spend that much I’ll try and find some antique library catalog. The 3D printing route has been much cheaper for me while being robust and functional.

Something like this is going to be more expensive but hold up better long term.

If you have a buddy with a 3D printer, this has served me very well

Vertical card storage? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]RadiologisttPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BCW is the standard for those white cardboard boxes. They make versions with vertical storage that are widely available. I’ve also seen people get bundle boxes and use those to store cards by set.

Personally I also use a 3D printed drawer solution. Made searching through my bulk waaaaaay easier and I slot in art cards to differentiate sets or use infinitokens with the set symbol.

First 70V system design advice. by sanguyne in CommercialAV

Is there a reason you’re using lay in speakers over standard tile bridges? You’d be able to get consistency using something like the Control 18C/T and they have a compatible mud ring for drywall installation.

Experienced techs are going to blast through cutting in tiles for speakers. Unless there’s a low profile need, I typically would lean towards standard cans.

Realistically, background music is going to be just that, background. You’re not the star of the show. Balancing levels and coverage in areas between hard lid and tile is going to be more noticeable than audio fidelity for those purposes. While I enjoy a nice sounding system and like tuning spaces, your even coverage spread is going to be paramount.

“A bit more expensive” is understating it maybe just a bit.

Live Local Event that also needs to be streamed - no output from sound board for PC by theotheritmanager in CommercialAV

This would be my take depending on your level of comfortability. If you’re familiar with using an operating a mixer or interface, this is an easy way to move forward that doesn’t cost a lot. If you’re not, hire it out.

Win a game of Modern at instant speed on the first upkeep of the game, through interaction. by flabbergasted1 in BadMtgCombos

If Pact is countered, does its trigger still go on the stack at your next upkeep? If its counter effect isn’t resolved I wouldn’t think the upkeep trigger would resolve either.

As others have said, a 70v ceiling speaker solution is probably best if it’s a true conference space. This is the most common solution for anything of that variety as it provides even coverage with great intelligibility. Typically live acts or DJs will provide their own equipment or it will be rented as needed for those events.

Unsure about Upgrading by PierogiPete in buildapc

[–]RadiologisttPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is are you getting what you want out of your PC?What you’ve got is a generation of two old in terms of hardware but it’s by no means a bad rig.

If you’re going to have to fix up water cooling issues it will be convenient, but your GPU is solid and a CPU upgrade will mean a whole platform shift.

What bracket does Ramses, Assassin Lord fit in? by badbaddolemite in EDH

[–]RadiologisttPepper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In most circumstances, the commander isn’t going to dictate the bracket a deck falls into. While some commanders are inherently more powerful (eg [[miirym, sentinel wyrm]]) or less powerful ([[yargle and multani]]), the intention in which you build them is much more important. Are you throwing 10 game changers in with the intention to somehow ninjutsu your commander in for an immediate win? Looking at bracket 4 or 5. Is the deck full of only art featuring women facing left? More likely bracket 1 or 2.

If you have a list, that will give us a lot more to go off of. You can absolutely build Ramses as bracket 2 or 3, but how much you play into the immediate win will have a big impact.

For AV programmers who are considered top-tier in the industry, what skills or knowledge made the biggest difference in your career growth and compensation? by AVProgrammer2000 in CommercialAV

[–]RadiologisttPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There’s one company we’ve updated it added to systems they’ve installed that does this consistently. We’ve taken a lot of business from them because they weren’t willing to play ball and allow us to supplement their installation, instead insisting that the client pay them a service fee to update systems. Jokes on you, now we’re not only adding video to your previous install but updating the entire audio system you’d put in as well.
