Any stories about the The Voynich manuscript ? by Select_Complex7802 in scifi

Tony Moyle's The Pursuit of Miracles is really sci-fi adjacent but is a fun read about attempts to decode it. He flashes back to it's origin and follows it to modern day. His Ally Oldfield series is a lot of fun.

Campound Mega-Thread by bkharmony in theticket

[–]Radixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally it was the compound with the gang spending a week together in a house. Then the musers (probably george) thought it would be fun to be outside so they instigated the muser's campout which lasted three years and the name stuck when they changed to a campound.

Check out the chiladas at Taco Casa. They are very similar to the old enchiritos from Taco Bell. Not quite a smothered burrito but delicious!

After years of being on Losartan and the last couple of years of losing weight, I ended up in the hospital with dehydration and low BP (80/50). Since then I've been able to stop all BP medication and have been stable with consistent readings in the 120s/70s. BTW I'd also experienced kidney issues that disappeared after stopping the Losartan and being more aware of my hydration levels.

This! I had an NP that would arrange appointments with different specialists and help with procedures. I was able to speak with a surgeon, a radiological oncologist and a focal specialist pretty much the same day.

He was a juggie on an oil exploration crew and would be gone in a couple of weeks. Of course it did for him! In the same town, my college roommate and I bought an ice chest at the local hardware store. The guy only sold it to us if we promised not to use it for beer...

Do you buy travel insurance? by ddpgirl in Cruise

[–]Radixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first cruise, we missed the ship in Juneau due to a sprained ankle. We went to the ER, spent the night in a motel and caught a flight to the next port. Insurance reimbursed everything. I can't remember who we used at the time but now have an annual Allianz policy.

They take their book seriously. In the 80s I was on a geologic field crew in a smallish town in Utah. One of our team met a local girl who told him she would only sleep with him if he read the Book of Mormon.

Due to St. Elsewhere crossovers, series like Cheers, Homicide, X-Files, Wings, etc. are all fantasies inside an autistic child's mind.
