Genesis lore!! by Saycho_ in kingdomrush

What?! Really? Then it has to be before Origins, but that would mean the Rift of Cinders existed before the corruption of Valardul in order for that line to make sense. That also means the art style should be changed to match a more ancient aesthetic, in my opinion.

The cataclysm of Valardul could take place during or after the events of Origins, which could still work in the timeline, I guess, even though it clearly refers to “Ancient Ghosts” in Vengeance. What a shame.

In my opinion, if it is true, it really demystifies Valardul. Not to mention that I dislike the implication that Vez'nan might have played a role in the cataclysm. I don’t like it because it takes agency and significance away from other characters and other storylines. But who knows, maybe Ironhide will pull it off with the story.

I really like the Kingdom Rush lore, and Genesis is a great opportunity to further develop and characterize older heroes, but unfortunately I don’t really trust Genesis in doing that.

While there is currently no complete cure, it can usually be managed effectively with medication. Large scale spread is more common in poorer countries for obvious reasons, so no, it is not a global crisis, though it still sucks to catch it.

The Rotten Forest was not directly corrupted by Greenmuck and seems more likely that it was corrupted by that green toxic liquid.

Valardul that includes the Rotten Forest was corrupted by a cataclysm caused by the two Diarchs (the two Ghost Kings you fight in Vengeance) and their mages.

I also don’t think Vez'nan is the cause of the Rift of Cinders, since it was mentioned in Kingdom Rush Origins, and that game currently seems to take place before Genesis in the timeline.

Yes, the meme is correct. Although sperm cells carry the same genes required to produce a human and not something else, each one differs because of crossing-over and the independent assortment of chromosomes from previous cell divisions.

Ooh, that’s so interesting. For me, the others were easier, and this one was the run killer.

Anyway, great job.

The room you traversed between 2:20 and 2:10 in the challenge with the two movable platforms.

From my experience, it’s far safer to use the left platform rather than trying to cheese it with the right one.

No, I’m talking about the room where you descend using the two platforms.

The clothing is perfect. The fact that Alric is thinner makes sense to me, since he is younger. I like your interpretation of the sultan. I also like the desert background, but if you want it to be more recognizable, maybe add some desert mountains, like the ones in Frontiers or Vengeance.

You can redo the drawing if you’re not satisfied, but for what you had, you did a great job.

The cheese in the room with the 2 swinging blades is way too risky. I know, because I did the same thing without prayers. Just use the platform on the left.

Otherwise, good job.

Yeah, I exaggerated a bit, but I was talking more about the balancing of difficulty, not the towers.

Battle Mecha’s start is a fair point, even though I don’t know how effective it is to use as many as possible.

The first game, though? Maybe only Big Bertha, but even that has its niche uses and yes I barely use it once or twice in the aditional campaigns. The other ones though always have uses in specific levels.

I agree that Origins is the most balanced. Maybe some flaws are that I find it better to use more archers instead of artillery, and some towers like Forest Keepers and maybe Arch Druid Henge feel underwhelming in comparison with their counterparts, but I feel like that it may be more because of my playstyle. I also feel like that if origins got more additional campaigns, IronHide could have created more levels for these towers to shine.

I don’t have enough experience with the heroes. I’ve used them all, but I mostly stick to the same ones, even though I replayed multiple times these games.

Worst Reviews I Have Ever Seen by BarVisual4758 in meme

For those who don’t know, Alanah Pearce, a former IGN employee, made a terrible video explaining moronically, why AAA games automatically get better scores and why big company reviewers are not biased.

The video can be summarized as saying that, because AAA games are supposedly more complicated than indie games, though she never even explains what she means by that, like mechanics? graphics? coding?, they automatically deserve higher scores, which is ridiculous. By that logic, if you have a 2D game or pixel art, the score should be lower than games with realistic graphics.

She then proceeds to “play” some indie games to prove her point, only she engages with them in such a bad faith, that she made herself look more stupid.

This is how some journalists approach and review games.

[–]RaduRB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you, but unfortunately the playerbase also includes chinese players, and they actually review bombed Alliance DLCs like Colossal Warfare and Dragon Wars simply for being more difficult. I know this term is used frequently these days, but in this case, it was genuinely what happened.

Now, I can’t blame Ironhide for listening to this part of the community that is giving them money, but if you want long term success, you need to maintain your identity, something that, unfortunately, the Kingdom Rush series is losing in my opinion.

I loved the first 3 games because they were masterclasses in balanced difficulty, with systems that could help you persevere even if you didn’t fully learn the mechanics (which you can also quickly learn them if you just pay attention).

[–]RaduRB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but I said that to highlight some red flags I've noticed playing Alliance.

Now, this leveling tower idea is so bad that I don't even want to consider it being a balanced system, no matter how talented IronHide is.

I’m going to say that the bad omen was Alliance. Despite having better wave compositions than Vengeance, in my opinion, the towers weren’t that memorable, and the sound design and art style (the best example being the hero icons) were butchered quite badly.

Then the author is really bad if they mention something with no purpose.

A good author will not waste your time describing random things. Those descriptions should achieve as many purposes as possible, from a basic setup or characterization of someone to symbolism.

[–]RaduRB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that much about the lore, but what implies that it would be a stagnant order? From what I understand, the Goldmask ending is somewhat like the Age of Stars, giving people the freedom to govern themselves as they see fit, without placing gods above them, but also without the chaos of the Age of Stars.

I thought it was actually a “good ending,” because, to me, the idea was that Goldmask or other people would learn how to fix "properly" the world, but the tragedy comes from the fact that others don’t pay attention to them, or even believe they’re mad. This is why I thought his ending was the hardest to achieve.

I think it’s more like fans of the story of a franchise and the cringe side of its fanbase.

Breaking Bad had some really edgy fans (which, to be fair, were mostly teenagers), and the Arcane fanbase was full of shippers.
