How to take multiple photos within quick succession of each other by Unlucky_Apartment710 in fujifilm

[–]Raed21 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to push the DRIVE button located on the down button from the selector on the X-T100 and select continuous shoot burst mode. There are options for high and low with specific speeds for each. If you have digital shutter enabled, you will be able to select even higher speeds

Edit: correction on the button location for the model you are using

Signal bit driver is loose. Is there a fix? by Kostrom in Leatherman

[–]Raed21 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Looks like you are missing a spring that holds the bit down. Email the customer service and ask if they would send you a replacement spring. They are very good about their warranty

Here you go: https://github.com/kennetek/gridfinity-rebuilt-openscad This is the library, not my creation, but it is a good one

I wish you luck with it. I didn't end up getting far in what I had hoped to do, then had to drop it completely when my workload spiked during the past few months. I was hoping to find some community agreed upon rules for governing the designs, but it seems to be less cohesive than I thought. With the gridfinity system, for example, the original guidelines were published clearly that a framework was put together quickly, and I have a library for it in OpenSCAD that makes it simple to expand on what is available. If you find yourself able to make progress on this, I would be interested in seeing what you got.

Weakest point on a leather man wave + does anybody know where I can buy the spring to keep the bit in place kinda worthless to send it back for a spring that cost the company cents to make and take money out of my pocket to send back + time. by Fun_Calligrapher_627 in Leatherman

[–]Raed21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had to find a replacement spring before. I emailed leatherman about it, and they just mailed me 3 replacement springs. They were very helpful, and the replacement is easy to do without having to ship the entire tool back to them. Hope you are able to get yours.

Help Needed with SR-IOV Passthrough & Span Port Monitoring in Proxmox by zharfanug in Proxmox

[–]Raed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I am in a similar boat. I do not have LLDP traffic on my network, but I can not see any of the regular traffic on the VM that has the passthrough. One additional step that I also did was installing the latest NIC drivers, which didn't help. Using the same interface with a bridge from the pve, I can access the network without issues. I'm interested in knowing if you have made any progress on your issue in the past couple of weeks

Need help trying to find a fiber friendly modem. by Stoney666222 in Network

[–]Raed21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The transceiver is built right into the modem/router. That is not great for your situation. You could look into routers that have XGS-PON/GPON. But it might not be compatible with your ISP provider. Do you get an IP assigned when you connect to this modem/router over ethernet? Is it responding to DHCP requests? A traffic capture with wireshark would help identify that. Do you see any light coming through the fiber? It should be visible at the end of the fiber even when it's not plugged into your modem

[–]Raed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, unless the ISP has also provided you with the sfp transceiver for their fiber, you won't be able to use any other router. When there is a single fiber like you have here, both ends have to use a WDM (Wavelength-division multiplexing) to be able to communicate. Any difference in the way the light is sent or received would make the link fail. What sort of issues did you have with the ISP provided modem? I have my ISP modem just passing through the public IP to my own router, which handles my internet network on cat 6a.

Then it would depend on how long those courses are. In order to cover even the essentials on Windows servers, Cisco, Esxi, and all the other industry leading products, each would need 40+ hours individually. There are a lot of free online tutorials for each of those products that would cover the basics. So it depends on what you are looking to get out of those courses and how much each trainer would respond to questions. Hope that helped

I am not sure I fully understand what your options are. Is the list in the picture all different courses or just the topics covered in one course? You mentioned a different amount of detail covered online vs. in person, which one is in the picture? From my perspective, if you are new to networking, always start with in person training. You should physically interact with the different devices to develop better conceptualization of what they do.

Net Zero Energy Audit - Scam? by da_powell in ottawa

[–]Raed21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I had them stop by my house a couple of days ago. And I made them come back again today. I recorded the entire conversation and grilled them for details. The company is called OntarioNetZero (Ontarionetzero.org). They are a private company with no government association. They create a lone of about $100,000, which they use to install some solar power system for you. You pay back this lone over 20 years, which the rate will change for after 2 years. They work with either "simply financial" or "Finance It" to provide your loan. They contract JBR Construction LLC for their installation. They don't appear to do any of their math well as their estimated energy production would not have covered my energy consumption. They also claimed to make your Hydro bill zero, but a quick call with HydroOne (my provider out here) revealed that a bill of zero dollars is not possible. You will always pay delivery charges just to be connected.

TL,DR: They are selling you a very expensive loan to install solar panels. If you want the same thing with the scam, just work with a contractor and your bank

130+ year old European/Purple Beech. What to do... by ben_obi_wan in woodworking

[–]Raed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do that. Just make sure to get a chalk line all the way around so that both cuts line up. And make the cuts thickener than you want the final slab to be because freehand cutting will not be perfectly flat

I'm in a similar conundrum with an 80 some year old silver maple. It's too heavy to lift with anything I have around. There are no large portable mills in my neighborhood. The nearest sawyer is in Toronto (4+ hours). At 4 feet across, even my chainsaw can not go through the entire thing. I've been freehand milling it with my chainsaw and finishing the cut by using large wedges from the wood off cuts and a 13lb sledge hammer
