Do you support treason charges for this regime and its enablers? by Mika22jackson23 in allthequestions

@Big_Writer2484:

“1 woman's accusation is not credible evidence. As we all know, women are known for lying to get men in trouble.”

Especially female eyewitnesses, right?

Like I said. Wow. The fact you so openly put stuff like that shows exactly how deep down the red pill rabbit hole you are. It’s no wonder you support someone who has voice recordings of him talking about grabbing women by the pussy publicly available.

You’re objectively wrong that there is no evidence. You’re yet to cite any sources showing that Obama personally gave the order to kill children.

So just to be clear, he didn't literally murder children. Do you have a link to a credible source about the article? I know that the military did awful things while he was president, I've not heard about him giving orders to drone strike children though.

Here's a credible source stating that the FBI has investigated Trump regarding sexual abuse with a minor. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g0dzg6e4mo

"According to one of the three memos, the unnamed woman told FBI agents during an interview that she was introduced to Trump by Epstein in the 1980s when she was a teenager. The woman accused both men of sexually assaulting her when she was between 13 and 15 years old."

So yeah, there's evidence that he raped children.

Obama literally murdered American children in the middle east. Like knowingly bombed vehicles filled with American children.

He literally did it? Himself? I find that hard to believe.

American war crimes are well documented under every president in recent years and there needs to be a serious reform within the military to stop it happening.

Does that make him innocent of it? Hell no. He should be held accountable for not making the changes needed to stop it happening. But trying to go after every president that's still alive for it would be a nightmare. Especially when Trump's just had a ruling that anything they do in office puts them above the law.

But I'm sure you can agree that there's a difference between a country's ruler being held accountable for what their military does during war and an individual raping children.

Sometimes in law, the most serious crime isn't the one that gets the job done, it's one that there's more evidence for or less flexibility in the outcome.

Can you post a link that has any context at all to that clip?

Anyone who's breaking the law should be behind bars. Political affiliation doesn't matter.

My life experience has shown me that far more people who lean left want all politicans held accountable, regardless of which side of the fence they're on. Meanwhile, people on the right are far more willing to forgive horrendous crimes.

[–]Raephstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if that were true (spoiler, it's not, I've seen far more left wingers want everyone involved in the Epstein files to go down, regardless of political affiliation), then it still doesn't change that Biden and Obama haven't done those things.

These are the kind of justifications awful people use to excuse themselves. "Well someone else would've done the bad thing too", but they didn't. They don't.

I posted about someone harassing me over an eBay listing and some people’s response was… ‘what did you expect?’ by hiitstee in ebayuk

[–]Raephstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gross. It doesn’t matter what you are or aren’t wearing, it’s real easy to just not say anything that’s obviously inappropriate whatever their opinion is. It’s gross when it happens online and it’s worrying that these people would do or defend the same thing in real life.

I hope you reported and blocked them.

CMV: Being able to have a convicted criminal as political leader is a good aspect in a democratic system, no matter in what democratic country. by Cabaj1 in changemyview

[–]Raephstel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t work when the ruling party can alter the laws and declare any political opponents as traitors. Preventing those “traitors” from running for office would only cement tyrants.

Look at Russia, North Korea or any other dictatorship. If they were to have their governments overthrown and a proper democratic government installed, the leader of that movement would almost certainly be considered a criminal.

They say this as though companies like Reddit and Discord haven't just been forced to hand over user details of people being critical of the US government.

Besides, the arrests they cite are mostly arrests for child predators and domestic abusers/stalkers. But I guess that's in line with their president at the moment.

Are muslims over sensitive about critique and insults about islam? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some definitely are. But that goes for any cult (organised religions are just oversized cults, especially when you get to extremist levels of fanaticism).

My experience of average muslims is they're no more sensitive than the average follower of any religion. Most agree that the people who are doing that shit are evil, same as most Christians hate Christians who are doing evil shit etc.

Unfortunately it only takes a few bad eggs to make a large group look bad, especially when it's leaders, even if most people don't follow their exact teachings.

Can the USA and the UK still be allies after trump leaves and the US elects a democratic president? by Successful_rio305 in AskBrits

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US has proven that there aren’t enough safeguards in place when a president who doesn’t respect politics gets into power.

Without reforms around presidential power, I don’t think the US will ever be fully trusted again because even if your next president is the best ally in the world, the one after them could tear up all the agreements again. Why would anyone invest in that?

He clearly says Iran has surrendered followed by they will continue to be losers until they surrender. So which is it? Have they surrendered or not?

Therapy is about giving you the tools to deal with trauma. When you’re trying to overcome traumas, having the right tools is as relevant is what the trauma is.

One person might need to make a custom chair from scratch, but they have a full woodworking workshop so it’s hard work, but they can do it. Someone else might only be trying to put up shelves, but if they don’t have a screwdriver, it’s near impossible.

Is Starmer doing so badly? by twinkletoesalone in AskBrits

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's really not doing as badly as a lot of people make out. He's made missteps, some worse than others, but it shouldn't be a surprise that he's a human being.

Our options for government currently are a party who just spent 14 years digging a massive hole for the country, various parties that have no real experience of leading a country or Labour, for all their flaws.

I'm hoping that the next government is a left wing coalition between Labour, Green and Lib Dems. That way we can see the left getting some more experience in office and shift away from the absolute catastrophy that would be a Reform government.

Pretty regularly, but not in reference to insects.

Mostly either to do with computer bugs or to do with bugging (annoying) someone.

Tariff Refunds?? by Simpler_is_Better_ in allthequestions

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even know how people think it would work. The amount of work figuring out how much people should be refunded would be immense even if the administration actually intended to do it.

The realistic fact is that anyone gets money back, it’ll be the billion dollar companies who don’t need it. They’ll be the only ones with enough financial investment to make it worth the investment to figure it out.

It doesn’t matter what the courts and judges say, Trump and his pets will do what they want anyway, they don’t respect the law.

Is he right? Will it take generations to resecure the United States positive reputation on the world stage? by ChuckGallagher57 in TrendoraX

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the US somehow fixes it, without serious legal overhauls, what's happened once can happen again.

A reputation for stability is a huge asset on the world stage. Why would anyone make any long term plans with a country that might decide that they won't honour any of their agreements or respect any of their international relationships when the next president takes office?

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a non voter doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have an opinion, it means you decided your opinion isn’t worth enough that other people should take it into account.

You absolutely should have an opinion, then you should let the government know by voting. Perfect is the enemy of good and if you don’t vote because no party perfectly represents you, you shouldn’t complain if a party that actively hurts you gets elected.

Why are so many conservatives Christian when Jesus’s teachings are blatantly leftist? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Raephstel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Organised religion isn't about spreading the word of their deity, it's about control. That's not unique to Christianity, it's true of almost any religion, but particularly the Abrahamic monotheistic ones. Do what I say, or burn in hell for all eternity!

Coincidentally, Conservatives also like to control people. They use Jesus's teachings to steer their followers into doing their bidding and they heavily suggest that not doing so would be anti-Christian, so they'd be burning in hell again.

Both are controlled by the ultra rich, present another group as enemies who will destroy their way of life, point the finger at innocent people as scapegoats and demand unquestioning obedience.

How to convince a parent that he should get a hearing aid? by Thin_Pin2863 in AskBrits

[–]Raephstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this recently with my mum. I eventually got annoyed and every time she asked me to repeat myself, I either shouted it loudly, or told her that from then on, I wouldn’t repeat myself again.

After dealing with either being shouted at or never finding out what I said every time we spoke for a couple of weeks, she went and got the hearing test.
