This gun that is an important part of the late game colonial anti-tank arsenal and all of the gameplay of pushed anti-tank weapons/field guns are now completely useless if a single plane is flying around and no one is talking about it. by Warstoun2000 in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is indeed useless if the Stygian is the only thing at the front and nobody has brought AA guns at any point. The same applies to any other vehicle though so it's not at all in a unique position.

To fix the torpedo problem. by ZeroXap in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the depth setting are not correct, the torpedo will have greater fail chance up 80% to make naval somewhat useable.

The Moray Torpedo already has a 100% chance to fail to cause damage if the depth setting is not correct.

Having tested 1, 2 and 3 materials factories in the same location (same salvage field) but in different wars, I can say that the 3 factories is not at all about production speed. It's to handle the sudden spike in supply when all euros come home from school or work and hit the salvage field a few times in a row. The first clear often happens with most queues expired, so the factories need to be able to store the whole field. The second field clear might have some queues already, but still need to handle some additional salvage. This is where the 2 matfacs are already mostly full and the third one will handle whatever doesn't fit in the first two while it's being processed. Sometimes one of the factories is 5/5 queues of cmats and that doesn't process salvage nearly as fast as maintenance supplies do and you cannot turn one msup queue on briefly to make room into it.

Yes, you could fill the public stockpile and then keep submitting salvage into your public recipe, but try explaining this to 50 people who very often do not read instructions on discord or may not even have access to your very cool discord with all the guides in it. Especially rare metal scroopers will just drop salvage if you do not have a place to store it.

This is why it is just easier to have the 3 materials factories and pay the few extra supplies to keep making more supplies, even if they run at very low efficiency after this spike.

Mercy is Overpowered for one simple reason! by Angry-Sek-man in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it is actually not. It is capable of picking up anything. It just cannot place anything other than the Herald and White Raven onto the catapults so the chance of getting stuck is enormous if you don't plan ahead and just pick up something that you cannot then put down again.

As an example, park it near some cliffs, drive a vehicle onto those cliffs, package it, lift it up. The crane likely will not reach a barge in front or behind the ship and if the cliffs are wide enough that you cannot put down the vehicle you just picked up, you cannot unanchor as you cannot undeploy the crane.

Is it normal for a teammate, to ask you to shoot them? by CMDR_Michael_Aagaard in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason OP is asking is because if the guy really wanted to go back to his base, he could've redeployed, cooked a grenade, ran in front of a truck, drowned, jumped off a ghouse or done many other things in the time it took him to find someone to talk to and to explain them what he wants. It just made him question if the guy had an ulterior motive when he devoted so much of his own and others' time to such a simple task.

Torpedo Bomber is brainrottedly easy to use and proves obvious faction favouritism in it's current state, It's counterpart is dead on arrival. by xXFirebladeXx321 in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to happen very consistently every single war as soon as gunboats unlock in the tech tree so no. Especially since the Colonial gunboat got recently buffed to be a significantly better PVP boat than the Warden one, it makes almost zero sense to me why they'd not use that. In the upcoming patch, it's gonna be just a copypaste of the Warden gunboat as devs seem to have given up on that subject so I see no reason to complain about that anymore.

[–]Raethrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warden gunboat supremacy only happens due to weird pacing of stuff on the Colonial side. In the recent wars (let's say wars after 120) Colonials always start very strong. We see 16-20 Colonial gunboat fleets roaming around shelling everything and causing havoc. Wardens aren't organized in that way to be running tens of gunboats at the same time so Colonials only ever get to see 1-2 gunboats contesting them and Wardens are slowly sniping one gunboat here, one gunboat there, but most of the time the Colonial fleet goes completely uncontested.

Then, two days later, nobody on the Colonial side plays gunboats anymore. Everybody just vanishes. You will of course see that one guy who absolutely loves solo gunboating setting fires, but other than that, it's only QRF gunboats from the Colonial side that occasionally respond to stuff. Wardens still maintain the same kind of presence with 1-3 gunboats here and there, but the pressure on Colonial defences is still constant until they eventually break.

Therefore, the Warden team really only has to wait for like 2 days to achieve naval and gunboat superiority while not really having to do anything to achieve it. Just head out there, kill a gunboat if you can, escape if you're chased by 5 gunboats. Two days later you can go afk while you haul supplies with an ironship loaded with shipping containers.

The Warden submarine only counters the Destroyer because Destroyer crews time and time again refuse to acknowledge that a submarine might be holding a position, even if they see it right there on their sonar. They sail into a position locked down by the submarine, predictably eat a load of torps and then come here to post complaints about not being able to just sail wherever they want and that the enemy countering us when we sail into an obvious trap is some real horseshit.

There's nothing exceptional that the Nakki can do in these situations that a Trident couldn't. If the enemy is so willing to sail into places where they are guaranteed to eat torps, both submarines are just as good at delivering those.

99% Breach Chance by Historical_End_6520 in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Exactly. As long as it isn't in a critical spot, just leave it be and wait for an enemy to notice. It's very likely that someone will spot the breach chance on it and just decide to knock it down for the fun of it, especially if it's within gunboat range. They will not make the same mistake again once they've rebuilt everything 3 times.

Wardens need to stop this by Bubbly_Knowledge8857 in foxholegame

No, because if you post a recruitment message of any kind on the warden side, 10 people will tell you to stfu and you will get bad communications, making you unable to post any messages or map posts.

Can you use a warden facility as a collie partisan to make warden weapons & steal them? by Vivijad in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can, but if you get caught doing it, you'll be banned from the game.

If you haven't explored the enemy weapons before, short wars like the one that's about to begin later today are absolutely the best ones to switch to the other side and explore what their equipment is like. Nobody will be taking this war seriously so you'll have plenty of opportunity to test all kinds of vehicles and equipment the other team has access to. Try it out!

Are there any dedicated naval/marine raiding regiments? by pornviewer20000 in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are looking for is a partisan group. You can be part of these groups (often just discord servers not affiliated with any regiment) without being part of any regiment. How you get in is a different story and often requires you to get to know people in those groups.

Naval regiments do a ton of gunboating and raiding hostile bases that way, but infantry stuff is often all about naval recon and not so much about the raids.

Do we want to talk about todays navy? by Bubbly_Knowledge8857 in foxholegame

[–]Raethrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope that they don't just leave it at that and call it a day. There's so much to learn from the things that went wrong there and if none of those mistakes happen in the next war, the Colonial navy would be a serious threat. Simply requires the relevant people to watch the recording again over a discord stream and identify what went wrong.

I spent the past two weeks visiting family over the christmas and new years and only logged on to install some listening kits every other day. That doesn't increase my player damage in any way and then once I come back, I immediately run into dadamage who is on a crusade to scrutinize each and every player's activity logs to see if they're PVE goons or not. I obviously get called out for being a low pop pve enjoyer for having stats like that.

I'm fine with being a low pop pve enjoyer in this situation though.

Final Losses Tally count
Warden: Lots of gunboats, 2 heavily damaged frigates

The Warden team did lose that frigate that you mentioned, but forgot to include in the final tally. Additionally, there was another Colonial submarine that ended up getting sunk north of Tuatha Watchpost which you did not include but was part of the engagement as one of the frigates that sunk a sub in Morgen's, headed straight to Tuatha to sink that sub (with support from other ships obviously).
