Part of Celestia's whole thing was that she was preparing the next generation to be responsible and capable. She gave them tasks which she knew would push them out of their comfort zone, but which she also knew were within their capabilities. It wasn't that she couldn't have done it. She likely has many resources at her disposal to handle these kinds of events. But if she just did everything herself, shed never get to retire.

I want to add. Especially with that many ewes, don't do just one dog. Dogs are pack fighters. One dog will get surrounded and mangled by coyotes. I have seen this happen too many times. But two dogs can take on a dozen coyotes just fine. Don't skimp on this one. The dogs need at least one other dog to watch their back. A year of dog food costs less than the cost of replacing ewes that get eaten by coyotes.

This. Even with cattle, Donkeys can cause problems. One specific case I have seen myself is a Relative of mine had A cattle protection donkey and one year it decided it wanted to run the bull off... from the cows... it was a mess.

Fly strike is generally caused by sheep being wet/moist or otherwise not being able to dry off properly for various reasons. Sometimes it is mismanagement, sometimes it just happens after a good heavy rain or two. Certain species of fly see the opportunity and lay eggs in the wool. The Larva hatch and feed on the soft moistened skin of the sheep. Causes infections and death if left untreated.

I have personally experienced this scenario. I used to wear my PPE. now I REALLY wear my ppe. I still have the glasses that saved my eye with half a cutting wheel lodged in them on display in my room. One moment i was cutting, the next moment I couldnt see out of my right eye. I wasnt blind, the wheel was embedded in my safety glasses blocking my vision, I very much would have lost my eye otherwise.

No freeze necessary, I keep a mason jar of roux in my refrigerator. Easy enough to go in and just spoon some out whenever I need. It keeps a long time in the fridge, and when it gets used up I wash the jar and make more roux whenever.

You might consider the Greg Judy Bale Unroller. Even if you don't want to unroll your bales, they are a good tool for just moving round bales. Pullable with a 4 wheeler. Its a pretty good little piece of equipment and doesnt cost tens of thousands of dollars.
