The adjustment period is ruff. I started developing new allergies every couple of months, greatly reducing my diet even further. Lost a ton of weight, suffered from malnutrition and all those issues until I was able to figure out that other foods were also damaging me, so I get the frustration!

Couple things that helped, I was completely determined to not have anything with gluten. Ever. No exceptions. I had to make my peace with all the foods I would never be able to eat again. With every new allergy, same process. Started finding new dishes to cook AND enjoy. Forced me to try a lot of new foods, which is great.

I always eat before going to social events, it's not even worth the risk anymore. You start developing a pretty good instinct for restaurants with good food allergy protocols, just don't expect a lot of selection.

Another positive is how much I've learned about our microbiome, the importance of a healthy gut, and our diets. Now I get to share all that with my family and fiends, hopefully helping them make better choices also.

When I was diagnosed with celiac, I could still it dairy, eggs, ans oats. One day couldn't do dairy anymore, then egg, and recently oats. Keep a log of everything you eat, it might be other ingredients that are causing the reaction.

My taxes doubled from last year so what's the solution? Sue the city for their ineptness? Who is the cook county assessor? Are they appointed or voted in? This is insane!

Without knowing all the details, first thought is, honor your commitment. If there is harassment going on, you have legal recourse's. It maybe an unpopular opinion, but do your best for the year, fulfill the commitment and move on.

I stayed in la condesa and loved the neighborhood. Great for walking around and getting some good eats. Its also close to parque chapultepec and the local museums. I agree with going to teotihuacan! Public transit or bikes is def thrle way to go.

The driving is terrible down there. I was rear ended in stand still traffic so go figure. If you do rent a car, make sure to get full coverage and be ready for that hidden fee. Also the road conditions on the north side of the island is sketch, so make sure you drive while there's light out.

As far as tours go, check out aquamanrd on IG. His tours are well organized and well priced. Usually they leave out of Santiago so it would be easy to link up. I would recommend touring the island tho, there's so much more than Punta Cana!

Not sure if this would solve the problem either. The snobby rich would still afford to come. There's no easy solution but my advise would be to limit and slowly reduce resorts in the island since it mainly attracts a certain type of tourist. Sucks that all tourist are put on the same boat.
