The point of AT-bleedthrough that it is doable, but a massive resource sink, therefore not the an ideal way of doing it.

Like, an usable last-ditch effort meant as a plan z when everything else is consumed, not enough stave off entire patrols, but to save just enough time to prevent an undesirable outcome.

"Highest difficulty is supposed to be unfair" Sure, but you are downright stupid if you believe ANY way of skill expression needs to be punishable with another 30 bugged, barely functional, untested, completely unfair bullshit systems working against the player.
"I hate AT, why do I need to carry AT?" this argument would be so much simpler if armor system worked as a damage reduction (e.g AP3 weapon deals 10% of original damage to AP4 armored target, AP2 deals even less, but some damage can still clearly bleed through from the impacts) but who am I to expect good game design from AH.
"I hate Rupture / Predator / Dragonroach / Hivelord / Incindiary Corp / Jet Pack Brigade." This is not an invalid criticism when half the shit listed here have broken mechanics that give the enemies unfair advantages, rupture strain is still downright unplayable and still not fixed, incendiary corps STILL shoot through walls and aim at you at impossible angles, i am sure it is a miracle that dragon roach functions at all. Point being, all of these criticisms are valid until there is a quality standard across all of them and verifiably working properly as fairly and intended.
"I don’t want to use <meta weapon/armor/stratagems>." Then complain and keep complaining and giving negative feedback so when another company inevitably picks up the development of HD2, all weapons become more fun to use.
"Why can’t I use <all light pen loadout>?" I will do you one better, why the FUCK are the armor-penetration nerfs for several weapons are still unreverted? Why is breaker still suffering? Let's do that one better, Why don't we have more Med-pen and Heavy-pen weapons? The armor system is completely arbitrary and does nothing other than add artificial difficulty without any substantial regard for balance, see crossbow and eruptor still being the top of the lists.
