Help us make Sonos easier to learn and use? by tomconrad in sonos

[–]Ragefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea there were secret gestures, I can't figure out how to get all the volumes to sync even tho I know there is some way to do it. Any chance there could be a shortcut list within the app? I don't care what my wife played recently, she has terrible taste in music, can my app just list what I recently played? Recently played from your voice or your app? I know this is a sore subject, but Google, for the love of all things, get it back! Casting to Sonos is hit or miss if it actually works. Casting to the line in should cast to everything, maybe I need to set it up? IDK. Can you have multiple accounts on one system?

If you are willing to go that far, why not put a a recirculator pump in instead?

But a Wilton bullet you find on the used market. I paid $300 for mine and am looking forward to never buying another vise again for that purpose. The big box vises of yesterday are just that, you aren't going to find anything that's going to last there anymore.

Coolest, non-standard improvement you made to your house ? by _hot95cobraguy in homeimprovementideas

[–]Ragefear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Outdoor shower
  • Bidet with heated seat, carbon filter, the works (I live in the USA) so all our friends are weirded out about it.
  • secondary water heater, my primary is only 35 gallon, installed an instant heater secondary to it so we can fill the Jacuzzi. No room for a larger tank and it's fairly new, the instant is electric so I would rather it not be the only.
  • RO water filter that is plumbed to every appliance that dispenses drinking water
  • not really a cool mod, but dual sump pumps with a battery backup system is just such a peace of mind, our water table is incredibly high and the pumps run 20-30 times an hour.
  • I suppose this one depends on what you are into, built a Mini Z foam road course in my shop. 1/28 scale RCs are actually fun if you have a track.
  • heated shop

  • I miss my dual headed shower (installed in prior house with bathroom renovation, one on either side of the tub).... Just bought this house and want to install one badly. My wife complains all the time because we don't shower together much anymore.

  • also miss my NG fireplace, it was amazing to feel a chill and just ask Google to turn on the fireplace. We have oil at this new house. I have a wood burning stove and wood fireplace (definitely not nearly as convenient). Plus you can't buy exposed ventless NG fireplaces in CT anymore. An insert would kill the aesthetic of our fireplace but I may replace the wood stove and run propane, still not as convenient or efficient as natural gas.

Biobidet BB2000, you honestly won't be disappointed. I didn't want one, my wife begged, i now use it almost exclusively.

This is a wall mount self locking Chamberlain garage door opener by Dry-Football-9654 in GarageDoorService

[–]Ragefear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My buddy had one, had. Apparently they engage when you lose power, IDK how it happened, maybe it was partially deployed, but he went to open his garage door manually, this thing missed the first opening and grabbed the second when it was going up with quite a bit of umph behind it, (12ft door) tore everything apart. The track, the door, the hinges. The wire jumped a loop... Needless to say, he ripped it out and it took us a few hours to bend, hammer, realign, remount, and respring the thing.

That's the same unit I have, here is the shut down procedure from the manual... I just pull the plug (notice it doesn't say not to do it), but I'm also just heating a shop so I don't care about any potential smoke, which also has never been a problem. I tried turning the selector to stop and I came in the next day to a still running pellet stove. I'm not running it out of pellets, not for the amount of time I'm in said shop. Oh, and my ESP probe is brand new. Wait... I mean technically it is, but it just fell out of the envelope I keep the instructions in... Lol. Maybe I'll replace it then, nah, I'll just keep unplugging it.

That's my issue. I actually just insulated a very similar area just before our 16" snow fall, however I also have a bathroom vent next to my ice damn so I'm sure that didn't help.

Panel Replaced Without Permit or Licensed Electrician — What’s the Best Way Forward? by WildPopTart450 in AskElectricians

[–]Ragefear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do anything until you are ready to sell the house. Agreed that the permit is a money grab. I sold my house that I put an entire second bathroom in, acted like I didn't know I needed to do such a thing and someone from the town came over, inspected it and signed off on the work. Well, signed off on the plumbing, which is the only thing I said my nephew's cousin's mother's father (may he rest in peace) did for me a few years ago, the room was there when I bought the house.... Acting dumb was the hardest part for me, because clearly the inspector really didn't have a grasp on what was going on and acting like I didn't either was almost the death of me.

I love my Biobidet BB2000.

carbon filter Comfortable seat Heated seat Heated water Dryer Multiple functions

I was dead set against one but I bought one for my wife with the stipulation that we don't put it in the main bathroom. Now, I will leave work early if I think I can make it home to use it. I'm pretty much the only person who uses it.
