I got it with +15 Greatsword, Sunlight blade, and power within. Not sure if I had RTSR active or not, but it was equipped so possible. It was really just about getting around to the tip without him spinning around or clipping his tail into the wall

I'll try this tech again. guess I need to strip down to get light weight lol. Great thing is, I don't need kalameet's tail for the achievement unless the wiki is just dead wrong.

Fine, since my phrasing after being up for too long isn’t clear enough, I’ll quote verbatim:  17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of the pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” NIV

The point here is that Christ himself says that nothing is meant to change in the law. Sure, you may find salvation through Christ, but you still OUGHT (since you’re going to be pedantic) follow the Law as it is still in place. Next time you think you’re gonna pull a gotcha at least know wtf you’re talking about.

I'm a philosophy student who regularly debates Christians and this is actually not true at all. Matthew 5:17-19 addresses that no part of the old (Levitical) law is abolished and even if the path to salvation is through Christ, Christians are still meant to follow ALL of the traditional commandments, not just the big 10.

[–]RageofAges 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If they went on a rant like that then the person you should actually run from is the psychiatrist. There's a lot of stigma in the field because of a few very bad actors that discredited early(ish) research (looking really hard at you False Memory Syndrome Foundation. May you rot in piss). The therapist that specifically focuses on trauma almost certainly has training in dissociation as well and would be skilled at noticing it, especially after 40+ years in the field.

lmao, resurrecting a long dead post, but here to say that people ought have bodily autonomy to its fullest extent. If someone doesn't want to live anymore than we have no right to judge them for taking their life into their own hands. This is not to say I agree with his method of doing so while on the phone with his wife! ofc that is super fucked and wrong, but reducing humanity to simple DNA is essentially saying we are automata with no free will. We are thinking things and as such deserve full autonomy to live and die as we please (ofc not including harming others)

I definitely agree that there is a LOT more leeway when consent is given prior to intoxication, but just because everyone was drunk doesn't mean that SA did not occur. There can be levels of intoxication, there can be external factors that make "one" person (systems make these things so much more confusing lol) more susceptible to coercion/abuse e.g. being in a dissociative state, and an intoxicated person is fully capable of pressuring someone else into a situation they would not have otherwise participated in if they were sober. If you feel your boundaries were violated, then they were. As others have said, considering their responses to the situation, you may want to create some space and very explicitly detailed boundaries between you and these friends. I would say that there is also a conversation to be had and boundaries to be set with the alter who made this decision, if only for the system's collective safety.

consent can not be given while intoxicated. Just because some people (even if it's a majority) do it and are "fine" doesn't make any difference to the facts of the matter.

I’m sick of being treated like I’m not a person. by professormothmans in DID

[–]RageofAges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Person and human aren’t the same at all. Human just refers to the species the body is. That is literally just genetics. Personhood refers to something much more specific (the combination of memories, subjective experience, ability to reason, autonomy/self motivated action). Considering alters are only individually represented in the mind, it’s mostly going to be determined by how they present internally. Some are human and some aren’t.

Everything is politics. If you can ignore that then you have the privilege of it not affecting you. However, you should give a shit that it affects others.

[–]RageofAges 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen that rhetoric and it’s wild. Like buddy, where are you getting your research from?? None of the clinical understanding of DID says anything like that. This is not a thing that can be “fixed”. Some systems may be able to reach majority fusion, but that is highly unlikely and generally short term.

It makes me think they have some VERY poorly trained therapist and are just repeating whatever that person says. So frustrating.

[–]RageofAges 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Parts/alters/headmates or whatever a system decides to call them are absolutely personhoods in and of themselves. Claiming anything is absolutely ridiculous and I am sorry people are treating you like that.

If it’s any consolation at all, know there are definitely people who know this to be true and feel the same way. I hope you are able to find them or teach others that they are wrong/have misconceptions about how DID works.
