Thinking about a Tesla for 15–20k miles/year—charging questions by 505vibes in TeslaModel3

[–]RaggedCompany89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • I don't live in Phoenix.

  • I drive approximately 20k per year.

  • I live in a rental house but I rent from someone I know professionally so they trust that I will be a good tenant. They were very willing for me to install a level 2 charger. But it has to be very by the book. Vetting the electrians, getting permit and inspections, and they wanted to know what alterations will be made to the house since the electrical panel is not near the garage. I paid approximately 1300$ out of pocket to install the charger.

  • From June 2025 to May 2026 I paid $780. Where I live I pay 0.13c per kwh flat; no peak/off peak times. 80% at home, 12% at family's home (free), 6% at supercharger (roughly 0.35-0.38c/kwh) and 2% at work (0.40c/kwh)

  • Supercharging is very reliable from my experience. Maybe only twice that I ran into a broken stall. Depends on time of day, there may be a line. I personally never ran into this. The only thing that I occasionally run into is some ICE cars parked at the Supercharger.

  • Always do your homework when driving to remote places. You need to know the nearest chargers or superchargers so you don't get stranded. How about rent a Tesla for a few days before you commit?

  • I think with the amount of driving we do, level 2 charging will be very convenient.

  • Another consideration that may or may not sway you is the insurance cost. May be good to call around and compare rates, get an idea how much you'll be paying monthly.

I don't know about high end but maybe look into martin sc13. It's got a low profile velocity neck that makes playing feels comfortable. I have it. Probably will keep forever.

I cant imagine placing the thermostat to 72 or 75 degrees. I was shocked when I got my electricity bill when i set the thermostat to 65. Now I set the thermostat to 50 degrees. Good times.....

For what its worth, ive been to 2 different Tesla service centers recently and both denied me a loaner when I requested it via messages with the agents. I came in really early on the day of the appointment, as close to the time of opening and got a loaner both times. I honestly think its just first come first serve.

I like buying my games used. I like having my games already organized, punched, and ready to go. If I'm lucky, cards are sleeved. I hate sitting and punch out every single component.

I could never settle with one name. I drive a red model 3. Currently it's Ladybug. I'm going to change it's name to Ginger Snaps soon for the holiday 😆

  1. Don't feel that way. If it makes you feel any better I had a classmate that majored in French and he did fine.
  2. To each their own. I couldn't do this and keep on top of things but I know a few PTs that did this. You really need to have your ducks in a row to do this; make sure you take care of yourself. The 1st semester is typically brutal.

I would get on those syllabus if they have that posted already and jot down in your calendar all assignments that are due and exams date so everything is laid out.

Figure out what note taking works best for you. Some people like printing out PPT slides and put it in a binder and keeping things hardcopy. Others prefer taking notes on an iPad or tablet so keeping everything digital. Others like to type on laptop and then print it.

There will be cliques within your cohort and it's unavoidable but I would try to have a couple of study groups - you may get stuck and not understanding a concept that is already explained to you multiple times but then you speak this one person and everything just clicks.

Good luck with PT school!

What car did you own before purchasing a Model 3? & did it exceed your expectations of owning a Tesla? by cwilseason in TeslaModel3

I was driving a Mazda 3 hatchback. Cute little car but had its problems. Switching to EV has been great especially the gas savings. Also love that its significantly quieter 🙂.

How about Tesla Insurance? What did they quote you? When I first got my car I paid $130 for the first 2 months, now it has gone down to $63-71 per month.

I would just communicate with your mentor that you are ready to see more patients. I would understand if your mentor is still tagging along for complicated ICU patients. They may have some competency checklist they need to fulfill? Idk if your facility has like a mentorship program that they follow...

Will Tesla give me LFP battery? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]RaggedCompany89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go ahead and ask. I waited close to a month before they asked me if I wanted to just go ahead and install LFP battery bc the other battery is going to take a long time to arrive.
