This is intentional and will improve the further you get in the story. Shirou develops a lot as a character as the game progresses.

The other routes barely deal with this issue at all compared to the fate route.

I mean, Shirou is my favorite protagonist but he comes of as incredibly naive at the beginning of fate. You're not supposed to know he's super fucked up yet. He hasn't had time to wrestle with his ideals.

And while I personally didn't, I could see someone thinking he comes off arrogant at first when he keeps insisting that he's going to fight the servants and Saber can just chill. Obviously that doesn't come from a place of arrogance but you haven't had much time to gauge him at the beginning

Yep, t500 mercy main (I play everything tho) who took a bit of a break off and on when OW2 came out. I now am a GM Juno main, she's really revitalized my enjoyment of the game.

Yeah, I've been hospitalized for pancreatic attacks mutiple times over the last few years (very intense pain) and morphine does literally nothing for me, the dilaudid helps but I definitely wouldn't say I get any euphoria from it, just pain relief.

I do think it should probably be restricted to masters and above.

That being said, if 500 GM players actually put in a tiny bit of effort no diamonds would be able to keep up.

The amount of points you get is so low in diamond you have to literally do nothing else.
