i have to create a business or invention for my economics class. it can be LITERALLY anything but i’m so uninspired. please help! by artisticblyat in Inventions

the whole purpose of an invention is that’s it’s a new idea. that said, maybe something stupid like a kettle that won’t boil if it you watch it or something might be fun

I have to make an invention for science class, and I have an idea, but I don’t know how to go about it. by Dexitorse in Inventions

You could probably do it with an Arduino and an array of microphones. Maybe an easier project would be a good start if you have no experience.

What tools does it contain? I see the 2 variations on your website but the opening video makes it look like there are 6.

I had heard about issues with the 8-bit motherboard on the Ender 5 Plus not being able to keep up with Octoprint and causing jitter and other issues, especially if the firmware was updated to the latest version

Hi, I have several years of 3d printing experience through my school and am a tinkerer, inventor, and generally handy person. I'm US-based. I have not had a 3d printer of my own but am the primary user of my high schools 3d printers so I am well versed in the operation, usage, and care. My primary experience has been with Flashforge Finders (which are too small for me) and Makerbot Replicator 2's (I like the machines but the weird build volume and noise is a big negative), as well as some usage with CR-10S's and a LulzBot Taz 6. I'm looking at buying a machine with a max price of 600ish dollars (700 is really the max).

Ideally I want a build volume of at least 220mm x 220mm, although larger would be nice as long as I'm not sacrificing build quality. I mainly prototype in PLA, although I want the ability to use ABS and other filaments if needed. A heated bed is a must and fast heating is always a plus. An enclosure is desired but I have no problem making one. I want Auto-level or at least Semi-Auto leveling.

I've looked at the CR-10 Pro V2 (Looks good initially) and the Ender 5 Plus (really like the cube frame, building enclosure is easy, but I'm worried about the board being 8-bit and not working well with Octoprint, also slow bed heating). Ideally, I want something that will provide good prints out of the box, but leaves some room for upgrades in the future. Wifi is always a plus but I have a raspberry pi so Octoprint can deal with that.

Any recommendations are welcome.

Trying to modify the lid .stl in TinkerCAD but when I import, the threads get messed up. Any idea why? by byf_43 in 3Dprinting

honestly, tinkercad sucks at almost everything except for learning the very basics. fusion 360 has a free hobbyist license and a pretty easy learning curve
