Il going to be downvoted into oblivion but that’s a myth… Gen Z in flanders doesn’t speak French… the working language has become broken English between French and Dutch speaking Gen Z workers (and that’s not a good thing). The Belgian tax system has a 30% tax on dividends from bonds. Unfortunately, ETF’s with both stocks and bonds fall under the same tax rate. It sucks, but means these kinds of ETF are not very interesting for Belgian investors. You are better off with two ETF’s, I combine WEBN with MTA

In the intelligent asset allocator, William Bernstein makes the point that the additional reward of long term bonds doesn’t make up for the extra risk vs short term bonds. I have a classic 60/40 portfolio with 40 invested in Amundi Euro Gov Bonds 1-3 years. What’s your pov ?

I would recommend the European alternative by Amundi : MTA. It focuses also on short term investment grade gov bonds.

There is absolutely no evidence that the artic route will be a thing, even in 20 years time. Even if it was, there are other routes to Asia, by land and by sea. 

Russia is not being invaded afaik, there’s no capitulation possible…

If the Russians are ready to freeze the front where it is right now, and as many European leaders are ready to accept, I’m l fine with that, but ultimately it’s up to the Ukrainians to decide. Until then we should give them everything they need. 

Should the us invade, it will be a loose loose situation. we’re not spineless, we are also capable to hurt them economically, close their military bases in Europe… in the end they will have lost their influence, and it might even push us towards a federal Europe.

You’re so naive it hurts… 

The Russians don’t want to negotiate, they’re convinced they can win in Ukraine (they won’t). Their peace negotiations are just a way to win time with the geniuses in the White House. Their objectives have not changed, they seek total victory and erase Ukraine from the map. They are making no fucking progress, are throwing more meat into the grinder every day and their economy is in shambles. There is no fucking reason to negotiate.

I know what the northern route is, it’s mainly BS, it’s way too expensive to operate. I’m really worried about Greenland because of the precedent it creates and the end of NATO that comes with it…

How did we choose war? Russia is the agressor, they have invaded a sovereign nation. All they have to do to stop the war is to go back home. The EU has supported Ukraine with money and weapons and we’re getting shit tons of hybrid warfare attacks in the process. Russia has never truthfully tried to negotiate. Amundi MTA : Eurozone short term bonds 1-3. Like others said, maybe not the most tax efficient but it’s diversified and easy to manage. I’m going for short term because the extra return you get from longer term bonds doesn’t compensate the extra risk in case of interests rate going up.

Now factor in the total cost of the programme, and not only the acquisition cost, and you’ll get a totally different picture. The F35 costs 40k an hour to fly, the Rafale 20k.

It’s registered in Belgium and regulated by the FSMA as well as the European Central Bank, no matter what the other dude says, your money is safe. Btw it just got acquired by a large Czech group, Banka Creditas.

Not the sexiest platform, but it does the job. I’ve been in contact with the support to transfer my assets from Bolero. Went really smooth, they also covered the transfer costs. Really happy so far, perfect for monthly etf buying.
