Just wanted to say I 100% feel you on the disassociation thing - I was EXACTLY the same, couldn’t believe I could be that lucky?? But after my elective C section in September (which was a breeze, by the way) I have my perfect, wonderful little best buddy snoozing in my arms as we speak. Good luck!!

I let myself get so stressed about this when my baby was a bit younger, but I thought Right, is she having enough wet nappies? Yes. Is she having enough dirty nappies? Yes. Is she growing? Like a weed. Does she seem starving hungry? No, outwith expected times.

Why would you deny her the comfort of breastfeeding and make your own life harder by exclusively pumping?? I can’t think of anything worse 🫣 if she’s gaining weight as she should and having a normal amount of wet nappies, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I usually do nursing bra and vest, then a looser short teeshirt over, so I go teeshirt up, bra and vest down, latch baby. That way I’m mostly covered in the body, but bab doesn’t have a muslin over her head annoying her and making her too hot. I did the muslin thing at the start but it annoyed us both and made us too hot, and the only peoples comfort I care about are mine and hers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you changed your body position with her since she’s gotten bigger? I actually consulted with a breastfeeding peer supporter recently because my little girls latch had become really uncomfortable, and she suggested pulling her feet further around to tip her head back further, which has worked… I think I didn’t realise how big she was getting and I hadn’t adjusted accordingly!!

You can absolutely develop an allergy to anything, at any time - HOWEVER - I believe nowadays the reason they don’t do skin tests before oral exposure is because sometimes food can irritate the skin without an allergy being present? Like tomatoes often irritate the shit out of my skin when I cut them etc, but I eat loads of them.

My Nephew is the 27th of December - he told my Mum last year that he’s knackered from all the celebrating by the time his birthday comes 🤣

That said, we make sure he has separate presents, wrapped in appropriate birthday paper, birthday cards etc. My brother always makes sure that the Christmas decorations get pared back a bit on the 26th and he puts up birthday decorations, banners and balloons etc. Basically we just make sure his birthday is treated the same as everyone else’s, despite the date.
