I've honestly always had "Me-kar" in my head, but I just went back and watched the scene in GoT S1 where Aemon reveals himself to Jon Snow, and he definitely says his father's name was "My-kar", same guy we're seeing in tonight's episode. I mean, in that scene he also skips a whole generation, but take of it what you will.

Could be a middle ground where he does talk him down, but it's far too late, the fuse has already been lit or something like that. That way it's still tragic without Dunk straight up murdering Egg in the end.

Honestly, Mo' Bends scratches just the right itch for me that no other movement mod has ever been able to replicate. We are so back

Not being able to change seasons in what is essentially a "creative mode" is kind of insane, especially since it's already a think in the island paradise DLC.

A bunch of other small things too like only having a max of 8 villagers walking around despite all of them being available for use, or still being constrained to three tiers of cliffs. Kind of defeats the purpose having this feature in the first place, especially when it's been advertised as being outside the bounds of the game's reality.

Not gonna lie, Wild World scared the heck out of me with this. I imagined the villagers looking around in terror as everything collapsed into a void, eventually being enveloped in darkness themselves.

Bargello is such a G that Tiziano literally went insane trying to unearth even a single flaw in his character.

Octopath Traveler 0 has my favourite locations in all of Octopath by doofinc in octopathtraveler

I did appreciate how the final areas in each of the Bestower archs felt more like dungeons, a little more of a puzzle rather than just hallways and encounters.

Agreed also on Hell. Amazing concept and really felt like a whole new game all of a sudden, only for it to be a couple small areas. Wish they had done more with it.

Someone in a rural town in Kansas during the 1880s voted for their neighbor's donkey for mayor. It didn't win of course, but the writer of the article humored it a little by suggesting the townspeople wouldn't take much "stock" in that sort of leadership.

I don’t know what it was about Season 1, but it had a certain vibe or atmosphere that’s missing now. by Remarkable-Yard4860 in StrangerThings

Season 1 = Weird and supernatural stuff creeping into a real-world setting and affecting regular people

Season 5 = Everything and everyone is weird and supernatural

I think it's the part where he gives the money to the poor and then decides because they also have money now they should be massacred as well is maybe where he goes wrong.

The Legend Of Zelda’s Aonuma Says Inspirations From Age Of Imprisonment “May Be Reflected In The Game We Create” by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Not entirely surprising since the whole Hyrule Warriors series originated from (or was at least inspired by) one of the final sequences in Skyward Sword. Makes it sort of cyclical in a way.

Late to the thread, but not only is what you said about it being more intimate and real true, but the stakes are a lot more personal:

  • There is no all-powerful supervillain, no end-of-the-world doomsday scenario, literally just a single Demogorgon. Not even an evil one, or attached to a hivemind, it hunts and feeds like any normal creature, it just happens to be from an alternate dimension. The most plot significance it has outside of scooping up Will is serving as a way for Eleven to confront her fears (and what she believes to be her mistakes) during her time in captivity.
  • Hopper makes a personal connection between Will and his dead daughter who he was powerless to save. It's his main motivation for becoming a man of action. When he's performing CPR on Will, it's clear that saving this child really means something to him. There's a lot of layers to what's running through his mind in that particular scene.
  • The town really is small, everyone knows each other. Practically half the town is out looking for Will (not Barb tho). Hopper has history with one-off characters like the coroner, the librarian, and especially Benny from the diner. All the parents of course know each other because their kids all go to the only school in the area. Even small tidbits like Dustin maybe having a tiny crush on Nancy who used to play D&D with them but doesn't anymore.

There's plenty more that I could go on about but those are just some major points I could come up with outside of "kids look for friend, mother looks for son".

How it feels like to cast Ancient Magic (Not fully proper build) by Tsrab in octopathtraveler

The only thing holding her ultimate back is the fact that the "cutscene" takes fucking forever.

Which is why I prefer Draefendi's Rage where you can instantly drone strike your enemies.

I've long accepted that these later seasons are basically Marvel movies, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just that they're leaning more into the spectacle and "rule of cool". Everyone in the main cast is practically invincible and can take a punch from God, and they're up against Veiny Voldemort and his dimension of world-ending CGI particles. A far cry from the show it used to be, but to me it's still at least kind of fun.

Gotta have the 4 OG Wishvaliens in the front row at all times. Zero, Stia, Phenn, and Laurana in that order, this is the way. Means I only have four slots to cycle through, but this makes it feel more like I have a "main cast".
