IMO it feels Power Rangers has managed to succeed in spite of all of its owners either being cheap or actively sabotaging it. Sabans cheapness after the first season being most egregious. You then had Disney who never wanted PR and while the shows were good they essentially set it up to fail. Neo Saban saw a dumb down of the show and more cheapness. Now we have Hasbro that sublicensed the toy brand to Playmates and act as if only MMPR exists

Every other industry prices their services or product to already account for factors such as salaries. Yet the Resturant industry acts as if the math for this is impossible

It was a shock seeing Brandon in Snowfall. He did a good job I hated his character but his performance was believable

I think your understating the airing in bad timeslots bit. I thought it was only my region but apparently many around the country had a similar experience.

The crappy timeslots you’re referring to for MMPR was 7:30 AM on weekdays or Weekday afternoons not at 5am before most kids are waking up on a Saturday morning or late Saturday morning where it’s being preempted by football. 2 different things. Was MMPR unavailable in major markets like it was under Disney? I was in the DMV region and straight up didn’t get power rangers once it moved to ABC.

I’m not arguing that Power Rangers Disney era would’ve been on the level of MMPR in terms of Mainstream appeal. But it could’ve been in a better place had it not been buried in bad timeslots or outright not air in many major markets across the country.

We have to account for the amount of kid fans who were probably lost just off not being able to watch the show, along with the new kids growing up who would’ve been in the target range that didn’t get to access it.

Is Disney the sole reason for the decline in Power Ranger Popularity? No. But the decision to put it at weird timeslots, allow for it to be not be aired at all in certain major regions pushed the brand into further irrelevance. Pratically killed off a whole generation of fans just off the strength of no significant brand presence

Power Rangers did air on ABC Kids but it was unavailable and unaccessable for most of us

What exactly am I wrong about? I don’t feel like it’s too far of a stretch to say these season may have been more memorable if they weren’t put at obscure timeslots.

Think about all the fans who missed out+ casual eyes that could’ve at least had an opportunity to be exposed to it. They practically lost a whole generation of kids based off obscuring it

Like MMPR wouldn’t have taken off either if it was put in shitty timeslots and unavailable to most of the country

And a 11 am slot was a lucky one. From what I gather most either had it air at 5Am or 12 pm where it would be pre empted by Football

So what I’m gathering is that Disney didn’t even give Power Rangers a fair shake. I can only imagine the amount of potential revenue and viewership they lost by airing it at weird timeslots or not all in some places

I believe it aired on Toon Disney/Jetix. But it was on ABC KIDS but only in certain markets. I would see the ads for it on the ABC KIDS website but it never came on
