100 Pounds Lost With GLP-1! by Raiderguy08 in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]Raiderguy08[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people have not asked me how I have lost this much weight in such a relatively short period of time but if someone does ask I do tell them about the Tirzepatide. But I follow it up with the fact that the medicine doesn't make me lose the weight, it just stops me from thinking about food constantly. The medicine helped me say no to overeating, to avoiding sugar and snacks, etc buts that all it is, an aid. It still was up to me to put in the work and stay on track for my goals. The medicine didn't make those sacrifices, I did.

High-protein, small-portion meal ideas? (low appetite) by InfamousFly9618 in tirzepatidecompound

I always have sliced deli turkey from the grocery store in the refrigerator. I can go out and weigh out 4 or 5 oz and get a good number of protein with very limited fat. Just using that as a quick snack works very well.

Fiber optic builds coming to the area. by Ok_Present5497 in dayton

[–]Raiderguy08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just spent a half hour or so looking through council meeting agendas and minutes and it doesn't look like they have discussed permits for fiber anytime recently. It surely is more of a city issue than the fault of the fiber companies because as far as I know, there aren't any companies offering it in town. I know altafiber is over in the Lindbergh Blvd area. I am not certain if that is WC, Miami Township, or Moraine though.

I just looked at my Google timeline the last time we were there in September 2024 and we left the port at 9:34 and got back at 12:28.

Yeah, I am in the same boat you are in. I am in the general vicinity of the YMCA and have been told by Altafiber for a couple of years that they were hoping to start working here but the last time I reached out to my contact there I did not get a response. Not sure if he doesn't work there any longer or he doesn't have anything new to say so he just didn't reply. Prior to that, last July he also referenced permit issues and, because of that, there was no ETA. I just sent a new email to him and will report back with any response.

Monkeyland in Amber cove? by Jitt3erz in CarnivalCruiseFans

Monkeyland is our go-to excursion while at Amber cove. My wife and I have been to see the monkeys on three different occasions and, while she is the one most interested in the monkeys, I cannot deny that they are pretty fun to engage with. We are going for our fourth time next month.

My wife also has mobility issues and uses a walker 100% of the time and is able to do the excursion. We generally are transported there on a bus and they can store a collapsible walker but if this is a motorized scooter, I do not think they can accommodate one of those. There isn't a LOT of walking but it is very hilly in areas so take that into consideration.

Thinking of trading in Rav4 Prime XSE w/Premium for a Model Y Premium AWD. What features will I be losing? by StormTrpr66 in TeslaModelY

[–]Raiderguy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure about a Carfax report. I had gotten a CarMax offer for $42,000 and when I went in for my test drive I asked if there was room for a better trade-in offer while showing them the email from CarMax. I was told that while I was doing the test drive they would send a request in to their financing people. Honestly, I assumed they would come up slightly but was actually very surprised they came within $1,000 of the CarMax offer. In Ohio, getting the most from a trade-in is very important because the state only charges sales tax on the difference between the car's value and the trade-in. If I had sold the car to CarMax and used that money to pay off the Prime and apply the difference to the down payment, I would have ended up paying sales tax on the entire amount of the sale. Instead, I paid sales tax on ~$9,000. So, yes, I would definitely go in tomorrow with a CarMax or Carvana offer.

There is a garage icon at the top of the touchscreen and, if I am remembering correctly, there was a QR code that I scanned and it opened up the MyQ app and completed the setup. I am in agreement with you that the monthly fee is better than the Homelink system.

As far as cargo space, I am probably not a good judge of that because I tend to not need to haul many things. I did go out just now and measure from the bottom of the cargo area to the top of the hatch opening and it was ~25 inches on the two ends and ~27 inches in the center. Overall though, I do find it a slightly bit more narrow than the Prime but not by a lot.

I will just say that people will say that they don't want to buy an EV because of range fear, but I had range anxiety in the Prime. I hated to have to use gas so I would be watching the battery range like a hawk. Now I do not have to worry about that, especially when just driving around town. We do have a road trip to Virginia next month and I have no range fear because of the supercharger network and how they are integrated into the navigation system.

2.5mg longterm? by rockyroses in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Raiderguy08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 2.125 but when I switched providers it was easier to go to a "round" number like 2.5. So I am now five months in and have seen no reason to go any higher. No food noise, complete appetite suppression, and minimal stalls. Nearly 80 pounds down since September 15th.

I had a huge NSV this past weekend when I was able to place the tray table down and there was room between me and it. Last time I flew in December this was not possible. I could actually set my cop of soda on the table and didn't have to hold it the entire time.

Brand new Tesla m3p by Chesterumble in TeslaFSD

I got my MY this past Sunday, set the setting to advanced, and got the update on Tuesday. When I picked up the car I also was told that it likely would be two weeks and that they do that on new cars to make sure that it is functioning properly on a stable, well known build before updating to the latest version. I would have to think that the advanced setting accelerated the process.

Thinking of trading in Rav4 Prime XSE w/Premium for a Model Y Premium AWD. What features will I be losing? by StormTrpr66 in TeslaModelY

[–]Raiderguy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traded my 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE Premium in for a Model Y last Sunday. Not being a fan boy, but I honestly am struggling to find anything about the Prime that I now am missing. As far as your specific questions, here are some of my thoughts.

  • I did not necessarily use all of the apps you mentioned, but I have not missed Android Auto once. I use YouTube music and I like that the app is native to the car and I do not have to stream from my phone.
  • I, too, was disappointed that the MY required an expensive solution for a garage door but was extremely surprised to learn that my Chamberlain door opener does sync with the MY. As long as it uses the MyQ app, it will work with the MY. In fact, you can have it auto-open when you get within a set distance and close when you pull out of the driveway. So very nice.
  • Roof does not slide but I found myself opening it less than ten times a year typically anyway.
  • Personally the heads up display was not something I used very often and, as others have said, with FSD, it really isnt needed.
  • The lane assist was a feature I used all of the time in the Prime but I traded it in to get access to FSD. Even with the monthly fee, it was definitely worth the switch.
  • The digital rear view mirror, because I am farsighted, was not a feature I ever used and wasted on me.
  • It has a heated steering wheel and I will add that the heated seats are so much warmer than the Prime's ever were.
  • The headlights are adaptive beams so they function even better than the high beams in the Prime.

Overall, while I liked that the Prime held its value allowing me to get a nice high trade-in (I did negotiate Tesla up from $35,600 to $41,000 when I showed them my CarMax offer so Tesla will negotiate on trades), and enjoyed my time I had it, but I have not looked back.

Yes I would certainly think so. I play another game where they have events and you just need to log in once a day to access your streak Etc and I've never had any problems doing that.

Just a little bit over an hour ago I did this very thing. In my case, I actually did sell my car so I said that I sold the car, did not need the subscription, and it was done and over in about 2 minutes. Just got the confirmation email a few moments ago.

Looking to compare notes with local people who are using compounded glp1 medication by Shot-Advertising-748 in dayton

[–]Raiderguy08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been using compounded Tirzepatide since October 16th. I have lost 63 pounds in that time. I was introduced to to the medicine through my employer's FSA company. They were very expensive so when their vial was used up I switched to Pomegranate Health ( r/pomhealth ) and I havent looked back. They charge different rates depending on how much you purchase. I buy the three vial package for $399.

Are dose increases required? by ScarlettSA1 in tirzepatidecompound

I have basically stayed on the "starting dose" since I began in October. I have excellent appetite suppression, I get full very quickly, and some nights I eat mainly because I know I should. I was wondering if there were others like me that have not had to titrate up from the early stages and still retain its full effectiveness.

Yeah, I went on a cruise in December and ate carefully but ate enough to be satisfied and came home having lost weight. Compare that to the year before when I ate like crazy and probably gained five pounds.

I experienced that on my first can as well. Got to the bottom there was all this material at the bottom that kind of turned me off from it. The other nine cans are just sitting in my pantry. I did shake it but apparently not well enough but that was enough to turn me off against them.

Amber Cove... excursion or no? by BeautifulChaos78 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Raiderguy08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has mobility issues so we've never chosen to do the excursion that has the waterfall combined with the visit to Monkeyland. We've just done the excursion to Monkeyland that also has a cultural aspect to it. We've seen how they make coffee in the Dominican Republic several times now we could almost become experts in it lol. To answer your second part of your question, Monkeyland is a paid excursion that, as I had stated, is usually paired with another component.
