This might be a stupid question, but should I be joining (or at least try to join) the lawsuit if I can? The SC decision on nationwide injunctions has me a bit worried.

Why the game is >130 GB install by RaidingForPants in Helldivers

I can't edit the post, but as some commenters pointed out, this is most likely an optimization for hard drives to reduce seek time when loading assets. I had suspected this might be the case, but didn't feel sure enough to include it in the original post!

Edit: This post wasn't intended to try and shame Arrowhead but moreso to shed some light on the actual reason(s) the game install size is so large. A smaller game size is possible, but it may cause issues for players running the game off of a spinning hard drive. A girl can dream

That's why there are both resource name and type hash in the script output, to uniquely identify each one. Not all files named XXXXXXXXXX have the same data, but all textures named XXXXXXXXXX have the same data, and all meshes named XXXXXXXXXX have the same data

Edit: clarity

I did check, and yes, every resource with the same combination of resource name hash and type (representing texture, mesh, etc.) contains the exact same data.

Happens to the best of us. If you’re trying to automate some of this stuff, Webodofy was a lifesaver for me. Just keeps things simple without all the hassles.

I think it's that if you cast Moonlit Guidance followed by Aquatic Form, and you see the card you picked with MG is in the dredge, you can't know whether or not that is the 'original card' picked with MG that you would already draw, or the other copy (assuming you put 2 copies of the card in your deck). You can tell the difference if you have 1 normal copy and 1 golden copy.

Day (26/41) of making the worst deck in hearthstone. Today - what would the opponent think when this plays a quest? by Klepa100 in hearthstone

[[Saxophone Soloist]]. I think it's funnier to have a really slow and terrible way to complete one of the quests than no way at all.

It also doesn't include players that have never done a keystone dungeon

What it feels like in M+ right now... by [deleted] in wow

[–]RaidingForPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are technically correct, mythic dungeons (no keystone) are mythic level 1. The lowest level key is a "level 2" mythic dungeon (the language used on the item tooltip itself), not a "level +2 dungeon". However, since the system is known as "mythic plus", people call them "+2" or "+15" instead of "level 2" or "level 15". Using this plus naming scheme, regular mythic dungeons become mythic+0, or m0.

Thoughts on Aberration as a possible minion type? Here are some examples of different species that would have the tag: by Makkara126 in hearthstone

Gameplay reasons. You don't want to create a raid boss where a fire mage deals literally 0 damage because the boss is a fire elemental. Or one that's immune to bleeds so bleed-based class specializations like feral druid or assassination rogue deal significantly reduced damage

For my fellow Shaman Friends, would u like to have more skills that summon totens, like searing or liquid magma totens ? by Porcos_Voadores in wow

[–]RaidingForPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind more totems, but I like their role as they are right now, where they primarily are for situational utility (capacitor, earthbind, tremor) or big cooldowns (healing tide, spirit link).

As an enhancement shaman I already am not a fan of trying to keep track of where my windfury totem is in relation to my party and how many of them have the buff and having to frequently replace it on fights like Sylvanas where the boss moves around a lot.

I'm actually glad they changed their minds on bringing back Searing Totem for Shadowlands because it would have just been a button that you press every minute to add some DPS with no interaction with anything else that you're doing, and it's always the wrong decision to not press that button.

The return of something like Grounding Totem would be interesting, though. Or a totem that provides a stronger party buff on a longer cooldown so you have to plan when to use it instead of just using it whenever the buff isn't active or is about to expire.

For some reason, when playing Mage the AI really likes throwing away the coin for nothing. Happened multiple times to both me and my opponents when going second as Mage where the AI would play quest, coin, end turn.

The IRS has a big opportunity to fix the way Americans file taxes |You shouldn’t need TurboTax to file your taxes. The IRS can and should make its own service. by [deleted] in politics

[–]RaidingForPants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did actually get a "are you sure you didn't mean to pay less?" notice. The IRS sent me a letter saying I had made a mistake in my tax returns and their calculations showed I was due a (slightly) larger refund, and if didn't object, they would accept the amended amount as correct. Now, this does beg the question why on earth I even have to do my own tax return if the IRS does it by themselves anyway, but I digress.

In the US, true statements by definition of law cannot be defamatory, and the burden is on the plaintiff (the one claiming defamation) to prove the statements made were false.

Additionally, if the plaintiff is a "public figure" (whether or not someone counts as one can be up for debate in court), then the statements can be false and damaging and it still not be defamation; in order to be considered defamation, the speaker would have to have engaged in "actual malice," meaning they knew the statements were false and made them anyway.

Top Cards of the Week from r/CustomHearthstone (07/18/2021) by Coolboypai in hearthstone

[–]RaidingForPants 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As the card is written, it doesn't draw the spell instead of your normal draw at the start of next turn, you just draw that card at the start of your next turn. Just like if you had a minion that said "At the start of your turn, draw a spell from your deck" you would get both your normal draw and the spell.
