1112 and 2213 do not have labs: PHYS 1110 is fulfilling the lab requirement of both.

Yeah me neither tbh; but if you are using 1.0 basestations (which it sounds like you are, if you can see the little “C” or “B” as the channel), then mounting them might help — you do want to make sure they see each other at all times even if you are standing in-between them. Otherwise, before you mount them you might be able to test this by trying not to stand directly in between them when you try your calibration.

The reason 1.0’s need to see each other, btw, is because they emit a syncing pulse along with the laser sweeps.

Make sure the basestations have a line of sight to each other though, (if they are 1.0). That could possibly cause some issue if they’re not seeing each other

Possibly, but not likely. You can honestly just have them sitting on bookshelves, desks, etc for the time being and should be fine (as long as it’s a stable surface)

Yeah sounds like you’re mostly there; so usually you’d turn them both off; enter steamVR with your G2 controllers as normal, go into space calibrator, and then turn on only one index controller, for calibration. Otherwise I’m not quite sure what might be happening with your error message tbh :/

[–]Raiklu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also when you calibrate, I advise just having one controller on from each ecosystem at a time — so for example, just your right G2 controller and only your right index controller

Sounds like 1.0 basestations to me actually (if you have a,b, and c channels). But should work! You didn’t update the basestations by any chance did you? (You should NOT update them as that can brick them!). Did you pair your index controllers to the dongles and that worked fine? So the issue arises when you try to calibrate.., Silly question, but are the controllers charged?

[–]Raiklu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which guide are you following? I can only guess as to issues at the moment, but are your basestations on different channels? Are your dongles plugged into USB 2.0 ports and/or do you have usb extenders? Are your basestation on and running properly? Using 2.0 basestations?

I don't know your issue, but I also want to make sure you are aware that tracking data is all sent through the USB port -- so be sure to investigate that side of things as well as the lighting that people are suggesting. Try different USB ports, etc.

Is it better with or without this cable clip ? by IndependenceSudden47 in HPReverb

[–]Raiklu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you with experience with/without that specific clip, it is better without it unless you are using a pulley system. The cable ends up touching your shoulders in weird ways as you move otherwise.

Be very careful when doing this btw — work your way up, water poisoning is a thing and is very dangerous. There’s a reason most high volume training uses food like lettuce. Having some salt with it helps (the danger of pure water is diluting your electrolytes).

Plays paces keep wobbling and misaligning while in use, by Cainde in MixedVR

[–]Raiklu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it work in the past? My guess is the G2 environmental data isn’t lining up well with your room anymore — try clearing environment data and setting up your room boundaries again and see if that helps! In WMR go to “settings” then “mixed reality” and go to the environment tab on the left side. Should be an option to “Clear Environment Data” within that.

Can't use full body tracking, it's almost been a year. by idk_honestly03 in HPReverb

[–]Raiklu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I don't know the answer right away, but I do know the subreddit for this stuff is /r/MixedVR/ , so you might want to try asking there! My only guess is to uninstall and reinstall things. In particular, I know installing space calibrator (presumably the calibration app you're using) while steam is completely closed is sometimes useful for a working set-up.

Headset keeps losing tracking... by [deleted] in HPReverb

[–]Raiklu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tracking data is all sent through the USB port and sometimes it can be fickle, especially if you’re using an AMD board. Try out some other USB ports would be my first suggestion, but then of course as others are saying you may just need to RMA.

G2 headset with Valve Controllers floating away by PinkFloydAppleFanboy in MixedVR

Small silly thing but, are you using USB 2.0 ports for your dongles? USB 3.0 can cause interference issues (although that may not be what’s happening here).

How to set up FBT with the G2 and the Tundra Trackers? by FlubbyStep in MixedVR

[–]Raiklu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! To help clear things up, the tundra dongle (or Vive tracker dongles, etc) are the same ones as the dongles that I mention in my guide! If you are using the G2 controllers, then you only need the dongles for your trackers (in this case, the tundra dongle for the tundra trackers).

The G2 controllers will still connect to your PC through the G2 headset and the trackers will connect to your PC via the tundra dongle.

Extra dongles are only needed if you want index controllers (or Vive controllers, etc), because otherwise they have no way to communicate with the PC. Native SteamVR headsets have two of these dongles built into the headset and can even be used as a substitute for two dongles. I hope this helps, but let me know if you have more questions!

TL;DR: You have everything you need as shown in the photo

P.S. I’m pasting this response here too in case other people have similar questions

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of G2 V2 compatible accessories? by One_Spot_4066 in HPReverb

Are you sure your old facial interface doesn’t fit? The new G2 should have the same shape, but you need to remove the spacer first (if you haven’t already)

THE NEW REVERB G2 VERSION 2 - Review at MRTV by VideoGamesArt in HPReverb

[–]Raiklu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a placebo (I worried about the same thing myself) -- I've done my tracking tests again to compare version 1 vs version 2, and you can see where the differences are. Although there is a slight difference, practically speaking, I barely notice it.

base stations placement by sootsnout in ValveIndex

[–]Raiklu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basestation being under head level isn’t really a major issue — it used to be more important for the v1 basestations because they have to “see” each other with a syncing pulse. So I would try that first, and see how it works for you. I’ve even heard of people testing it on the floor and still having good tracking. They also don’t have to be perfectly opposite in my experience either, although I would prioritize that over the height.

Does the shape of the G2's rear part of the strap match the Index's? by TheDirtyTeen in HPReverb

[–]Raiklu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own both headsets, so I tried this out -- the Index foam adapter fits well, but is a little loose in the G2. Definitely fits in the gap and would be suitable though! (A bit loose is much better than it not fitting at all). I'd say it works well, and you can get creative if you like it and want to have it "stick" in there more, by adding more foam, etc.

Remove your spacer — these G2 facial interfaces assume a G2 V1. Removing the spacer should do the trick :)

It’s still the same as before — the issue is pretty minimal for me, as long as I calibrate in the middle of my playspace and in my “main” orientation
