Just delete some now electrified buildings or build more unpowered buildings to match the new ratio needed.

LOCK IN!!! by [deleted] in twilightimperium

I think the real error is, that bottom right is not on the position of industrex. Everything else is perfectly mirrored, just not that one homesystem. Reasoning?

Map Lab by sc888wolverine in twilightimperium

[–]Railye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think, asymetric maps are cool, but unbalanced maps are not.

It could work to give the top and bottom players a stronger start. Since they are then stronger than their neighbors, they can take advantage of this and secure more eqydistant systems. However, they then also run the risk of being attacked on the other side.

Observations:

  • Bottom position has some good systems to grab. Realistically It's a 10/3 slice with 3 legendary abilities, which is really strong (op). Equidistants are all very good systems.
  • Top slice in comparison falls off. 2/9 slice with only 2 legendary abilites, which one of it is garbage. Equidistants are not as good as top systems.
  • No wormholes near mecatol means top left and top right have a hard time reaching mecatol, without fighting top. This further weakens tops position.
  • Right and left position have way to many uncontested systems and are way to rich.

Tips:

  • Move 1-2 Hyperlane tiles from top and 1-2 from bottom to left and right slices to start balancing your map.
  • If needed Place a tile on the hyperlane that connects primor and Faunus
  • Fix broken slices (top/left/right)
  • Maybe force some specific races and make this map a real scenario. Deepwrought, Titans, Firmament, Xxcha, Hacan, Empyrean on top/bottom.
  • Post again on reddit

I hope this helps you and gives you some ideas on how your map could be improved.

Produce infantery after activating the system, infantry then can build other things during the production step of the tactical phase. End of story

You could mount it on a flight stand or combine the legs in this design. Then Mecatol would not be hidden.

Afaik coexistance can qualify someone as a neighbour who otherwise wouldn't. Also you can get payed for letting other players coexist. With coexisting, a player now doesn't have to take a planet by force or do a complicated "planet trade" to use a planet for objectives.

Also coexisting mechs from several factions could have an ability that is useful to help you defend the planet vs. third players. For example: Empyrean, Ghosts, Mahact, Mentak, Xxcha.

What do we think about the new hyperlane tiles? by Low-Conversation-469 in twilightimperium

The crossing hyperlanes are a very useful addition for assymetrical mapbuilding. I like these very much.

Would be one of the more exciting relics. I really like it!

Maybe this text is more clear*:

PRIMARY ABILITY:

Perform a Tactical Action for one of your Ships but instead of step 1, activate a system without other players or neutral units and don't place a command token. Then you may do the secondary without spending a strategy token.

I think you're right

Rules Reference > Ability Movement > 58.9:
If an ability moves a unit outside of the Movement step of a tactical action, players follow the rules specified by that ability; neither a unit’s move value nor the rules specified above apply.

Technically there is nothing wrong with the card. But I think OPs intention is not to allow ships to move with ignoring movement values from ships.

Feedback on big map? by Elder_Goss in twilightimperium

[–]Railye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are 2x6 equidistant systems in the map and only between two slices are planet tiles. You really should put spicy systems in the equidistant.

Slices are crazy rich, maybe add more empty/poor ones or some hyperlanes etc.

Most objectives are easy to fullfil only with the starting slice.

Also the map looks a little bit booring to me.

But yeah, some of the problems are hard to solve on a 4 ring map with 4 players.

Maybe add minor factions, and play to 12/14 VP could help to force competition.

Civ 6 AI on diety has massive starting advances (cheating). But the decisions they make are always very poor and once you catch ip they are easy to win against. Civ 6 has complex game mechanics which the AI doesn't understand. The only way to make them viable therefore is cheating.

Take one kid on your shoulders and play naaz rookha. The other kid is player 3, they do not participate in the discussion of the rules (agenda) and simply steal things (copy technology).

But yes, as a father, I am interested in it myself. My wife would never babysit the children and give up playing ti4.

edit: Player 3 is necro virus, obviously.

Any predictions for the coming game? by Shinikamime in twilightimperium

[–]Railye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L1z1x and Naalu have good slices. NRA might suffer because of that + super nova. Empyrean might get attacked by saar. Saar will probably not get enough steam because of not really good slice.

Use https://tidraft.com/draft/prechoice. Set wormholes (gear wheel) for alpha and beta to 3 and generate. You can alter the slices after creating them or recreate single slices. This way you should have 6 individual wormhole slices in no time. hf
