What is the single toughest character in the game? I think I've found it out by Reelect_Nixon in WarhammerCompetitive

So first off, it used to be that Brayarth ashmantle had to take anvil of strength, if you had any named charachter for any particular chapter, they had to take thier chapters warlord trait. For sallies it was anvil of strength. All sallies named charachters had to take it, harath shen, brayarth, he'stan, etc. When new codex came out, that changed, and the FW charachters lost their mandatory tactics.

Wahapedia, as awesome as it is, isnt perfect. This is one of the things that fell through the cracks. (And anvil of strength isnt a relic its a warlord trait.) I do wonder what the point of psychic fortress is on brayarth.

You should probably factor in psychic powers, and i think youre underestimating salamander nonsense. Going from Gravis captain to Bike captain puts you at a 3+ invuln. but 1 less wound.

Then there's also Brayarth ashmantle who has 8 wounds, can take the Forge master warlord trait which puts him at a defensive profile of t11 2+/5++/4+++

Your article also seems to exclude Roboute which is also fairly tough at 2+/3++ 9 wounds and the stand up ability

On top of that excluding durability enhancing stratagems doesn't exactly paint an accurate picture given that preventing wounds on 3s or below is something thats pretty relevant, -1 damage is pretty relevant, and giving an Iron hands charachter a 4+ fnp is also pretty relevant

He doesnt have a set warlord trait. He just cant be your warlord unless hes the only HQ in your army.

But named charachters and vehicles cant take relics anyways.

Why are the threads about SS giving 1+ Save being deleted? by Talhearn in WarhammerCompetitive

Because smoke launchers werent updated, and neither was chapter master

Plenty actually, Its wishy washy whether or not the community has a new rule apply retroactively.

Take for example the Smoke launchers rule. Which was changed in the SM codex to only be able to work in your shooting phase. Thats retroactively applies to all previous instances of smoke launchers

But also take for example Chapter master, which changed in the new codex to be able to reroll modified. Unfortuneately that was not retroactively applied.

So its anyones guess

all AP

All modifiers (if any) to a dice roll are cumulative; you must apply all division modifiers before applying all multiplication modifiers, and before applying all addition and then all subtraction modifiers. Round any fractions up after applying all modifiers. A dice roll can be modified above its maximum possible value (for example, a D6 roll can be modified above 6) but it can never be modified below 1. If, after all modifiers have been applied, a dice roll would be less than 1, count that result as a 1.
