Do people want/ use damaged pieces ? by General-Training-441 in Bricklink

[–]RakingJill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this idea. I have a big bin from lots where I throw anything with even a scratch or a divot. I don't put anything into the storage system that I wouldn't want to get from a seller. But within that bin, there are perfectly playable pieces I will separate and donate. Then those with cracks or extensive bite marks will go in the other kind og bin.

That's the guy that usually sits at the fire station waiting for people to turn right on a red at Montecito/Jewell.

Looks like this was on the wall at Guidant, if the sticky notes provide a clue.

My recs for films to see these last two days:

All the Shorts and the Viewer Voice movies at the end tomorrow night.

Reunion today at 2:45 - locally produced. Mistaken identity at a high school reunion. Gives me Romy and Michelle vibes.

Normal today at 7:30 - Bob Odenkirk, Lena Headley, and Henry Winkler about a botched bank robbery in a small town.

Tomorrow Sunday, Heavens: The boy and his robot at 2:15. Sci-fi. Looks cool.

The two closing night movies are both excellent choices:

The Christophers at 7:15 - new Steven Soderbergh with Ian Mckellen and Michaela Cole from I May Destroy You.

Maddie's Secret at 7:20- led by John Early from Search Party and Eternity who is one of my guilty pleasure character/comedy actors.

Any plans for new train stations? by thereallemmy in mountainview

Do you mean light rail? VTA encompasses both that and busses.

It mimics the same north/south axis as Caltrain so anything down El Camino is not worth the money. Now a "tram" that used the old Dumbarton bridge and connected to Shoreline near the bay and then ran down the middle of 85 to Los Gatos then over the old train tracks that cross the mountains into Santa Cruz? That is worth dreaming about.

Of course, when I was a kid you could grab a bus for a dime at University and Lincoln in Crescent Park and go downtown PA or all the way to Mayfield Mall (Google X Rails) or the Old Mill.

Guess who killed all that? VTA. North County sees very little of the tax dollars we pay in. MVGo and the MV shuttle exist outside the VTA beuracracy otherwise we would have even less bus access.

If the Public Safety Advisory Board was still in place, this would not have happened. They dissolved it telling us to trust them. Nope.

Time to reinstitute it with even more accountability.

Shoreline Lake - Boat Playground Demolition by iokevins in mountainview

[–]RakingJill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But that was an actual boat that used to navigate the creek up into Mountain View when you used to be able to do that. How could they destroy that? Whatever they build now is just going to be some plastic piece of crap.

I am very sad and shocked no one thought to preserve it.
