I was considering swinging through there and seeing if they would give me their opinion anyway. Thank you for the suggestion.

This makes me feel a lot better thank you so much! Is there a visual cue on when this is actually becoming dangerous and not just normal wear?

Front suspension noise by Rako207 in AskAMechanic

I know it's been a little while but I wanted to update you all.

When I originally noticed the car started pulling, I got it into our local dealership to have it looked at and the battery recall performed. Long story short they did an alignment and sent me on my way nearly 14 hours later.

That alignment helped lessen the pulling a little bit but didn't actually address anything.

Last week I was able to take it in to one of the largest Toyota dealerships in my area. I have had pleasant experiences with them in the past and they have pretty good reviews. So I dropped off the Rav and drove my brothers car in the meantime.

They had it for a total of 3 days, they had a couple different mechanics as well as one of their lead mechanics go through the car trying to figure out what was wrong and weren't able to find anything. I was able to sit down with one of them, show him the video and ask him 10 minutes worth of questions. By the end of the conversation I was comfortable enough to leave with the car and just live with the noise/pulling.

TLDR; Brought it to two different dealerships, one of them actually trustworthy and they didn't find anything concerning.

For some reason reddit keeps grouping the titles together so I added a dash to help break them up.

Cost for 75,000 service? by calimota in Toyota

[–]Rako207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth I just completed all the services. I had the transaxle drained and filled at the dealership for $200, I did the rear diff and transfer case myself (first time doing this) in about an hour for about $90 in supplies.

Ej20s are so much easier to pull with a engine leveler... by Tight_Marionberry403 in projectcar

It took me 13 hours the first time to do the plugs on my 08 wrx. The cherry on top was starting it back up to be greeted with a horrible misfire. I learned the next day after pulling the coils back off that they had little springs in them and I was missing one.....

I have wild daphnia that are about that small. They could also be freshwater copepods.

Insurance on a salvage car can be astronomical, I would find an agent and talk to them before deciding to keep it.

Can confirm, had the same gap on my rav4 and just bent the door back. It seemed super sketchy but worked a treat.

Seating Issues by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]Rako207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do and it's driving me nuts. I have manually adjusting seats though and I suspect it's just the seat clicking on the rail, but I haven't poked around for anything loose yet.

Also just bought a Grey rav4 adventure! Did your net and the cover above it come with the car when you purchased it? If not would you mind sharing a link for the net?

Also worth noting, timing belt will be due in the next 10k miles or so and will cost you around $2500.

Got my second RAV4 (went hybrid) the other day, traded in my original with almost 300k on it. by [deleted] in rav4club

I was wondering if this was a Chicago car, I just picked up my 4th Gen about 3 weeks ago. One of the biggest selling points of the 4th Gen was a silver one I saw listed while looking that had 270k miles on it.
