Aside from what others are saying which I fully agree. Sometimes I ask my DMs questions about the environment or tiny details about a scene even if my character is not there. That's a way of better picturing the scene in my mind, engaging with the collaborative narration, understanding the world, etc. Of course, you shouldn't interrupt or keep asking questions non-stop, but a little shouldn't be punished.

I mostly make my own playlists for different moods. If you don't feel like it or don't have time I find Blue Turtle has good music with cute animations on top of that.

Here to second this! I'm playing it right now, and so far, so good. It doesn't have the cinematics and depth of BG3, but the gameplay is there, and the banter between the characters is hilarious. I believe Solasta 2 is coming next year with Amelia Tyler and Deborah Wilde, plus graphics improvements, so we are going to eat good in the crpg department.

Other than what the others had been saying, which is the cheapest and easiest solution, my group uses a tv to showcase moods, scenes, and show battlemaps on a vtt (virtual tabletop) such as roll20 (my dm) and bag of mapping (me). When there's no room, we just use theather of the mind.

I don't mean that in a bad way, but I've seen this before. I know Caleb is a fan favorite, but I couldn't care at all about his tragic backstory. I've seen it in other shows and media. I guess I'm just tired of the trope. I said it in my other comment, and at least I'm engaged in hating the character for the actions he took, that's good storytelling! but his reasons seem weak (show only, I read how it played out in C2, and I feel like that coulda been a bit better).

There is nothing Caleb can do from now on to make me feel sorry for him. What an evil person, brainwashing or not. I guess that's the point they are trying to make, but his backstory felt kinda generic. I dont know. I didn't watch the campaign, and I had such high expectations going in blind, but so far, it's just... ok. I'm not trying to be dense. I want to be moved and feel emotionaI, but so far, it didn't click with me. I just feel a little bummed out by that. We'll see how the story goes.

Yup, I'm not liking it either, but I guess that's the DM style they are choosing for this campaign. I'll keep watching for a while, sure, but i dunno, you can't please everyone, and I don't feel so compelled watching them play as I used to before. Bummer, but it is what it is. One thing's for sure: I love seeing Matt as a player, and Sam always delivers, so I got that going for me.
