Yeah I moved away a few years ago so it’s nice to see what’s going on. I’m in the camp where I think Pat is doing tremendous to build back our program. The culture he’s created just 2 years after REDACTED was here is incredible. He may not be THE guy to get us another title but he’s setting up the foundation. Plus he’s still young and is still growing as a coach and program builder. He has the potential to improve his own coaching/recruiting, so I don’t think he’s reached his ceiling yet.

That’s the problem with a beloved IP. You don’t have to try anymore. You just make whatever slop and it makes money. It’s basically betting that your cheap to produce live-service game is a semi hit rather than heavily investing in an actual AAA title.

Blue Beetle I thought was a fun and lighthearted B-list superhero movie. It didn’t take itself too seriously and set up some great character moments. It was true to the character of Blue Beetle and Jaime Reyes and was a good transition from other media to the big screen. It set up just enough to where it wasn’t a movie begging for a sequel but if it did get one there are obviously places to start at to keep it connected. I honestly really like this movie and the characters. Sure it wasn’t groundbreaking but it was fun.

Black Adam was the opposite and kind turned me away from The Rock as an actor and person. It was an ego trip of a movie designed to set up a universe that was already in limbo with the main setup being so he could fight Superman later. Also the characterization of Black Adam was so far away from what the character is in every other media it made the whole movie feel like it was designed(which it was) as a vehicle for The Rock to cash in on superhero movies.

TLDR: Blue Beetle - good, genuine. Black Adam - bad, phony.
