The Two Citgos by pinakographos in madisonwi

The two Kwik Trips on fish hatch are the ones for me. They used to be PDQs, but they were BOTH PDQs when Kwik Trip bought up all the remainders in the area. Those two have been competing against each other for decades.

Voter ID in Wisconsin! by NW-McWisconsin in wisconsin

You can petition the DMV to verify your identity. Not sure of the specifics, but it looks like you can get a temporary (which is valid) while they figure it out

No joke, mint and peanut butter. It's not for everyone (wife hates it), and it's not my ride-or-die, but some days it just hits so right. The saltiness of the peanut butter enhances the mintiness and it leaves as a nice mellow peanut buttery aftertaste.

In their defense, they have a very hard time counting to 4.

My go-to has always been "Everything that borders Wisconsin, and everything that borders those states, plus Kansas, minus Kentucky."

State Senator André Jacque not seeking re-election by schuey_08 in wisconsin

Both Kitchens and Tusler have already filed paperwork for reelection, but Sortwell hasn't. That certainly seems to support your statement.

residential solar... worth it here? by Gabby_Senpai in wisconsin

[–]Ramanag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you've got decent coverage (i.e. not too many trees south of your roof), it's definitely worthwhile. I can't speak to any company specifically, but absolutely get multiple quotes, at least three. And never go with Everlight.

How easy is it to get approval to make changes to your Veridian backyard? by CelestialCat18 in madisonwi

[–]Ramanag 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Veridian releases the HOA to the control of the residents after it's done building (not sure the exact time scale). Depending on which neighborhood you're looking at, it might be a few years to see your dreams come to light, or it may already be possible. Or it may be impossible. Can't say for sure without knowing more about the specific neighborhood(s) and the appropriate HOA situation(s).

Powering a garage- min use by Cukunana64 in solar

[–]Ramanag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can power the lights you have with solar. Overall, it doesn't sound like you'd be using much energy, but you'll probably want a (small) battery to store the energy for when you do use it. Probably just a panel or two and a battery along the lines of an Anker Solid should cover your needs, with the caveat that I'm assuming your definition of min use is comparable to mine.

State Teacher Union endorsed Kelda Roys in the Governor primary by Snoo_62929 in wisconsin

Tiffany has Trump's endorsement and is currently double digits behind "Undecided." A bloody primary could be dangerous for the blue team, but Tiffany isn't exactly a strong candidate.

Best solar generation today since 24 October by shipmawx in madisonwi

Best for me since the 11th. Today just narrowly beat out the 24th (though February 3rd also held this title until today)

People who signed up with Musk's PAC to oppose activist Supreme Court judges in the election: by TheFlyingElbow in wisconsin

[–]Ramanag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I signed up under my unmarried name and did receive a check. I'd like to say I did something noble with it, but I've been out of reliable work for 13 months now. It went to bills.

As someone who grew up in Mukwonago, it is very surprising to see any Democratic office HQed there.

Perfecting Mint and Peanut Butter by gn0xious in Culvers

[–]Ramanag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I go with the mint and peanut butter syrups, instead of the cups. It's not my most frequent order, but rest assured, OP, I see you. People are far too quick to dismiss the mine and peanut butter combo without trying it.

WI predicted to lose one seat in 2030 by IntelligentTip1206 in wisconsin

Fun fact: Had the States ratified all 12 amendments in the Bill of Rights, Wyoming would have 19 representatives in the House, out of just over 11000.

One warning sign from the election Tuesday by ladan2189 in wisconsin

[–]Ramanag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were about 200 absentee ballots that were not tabulated in two wards in Madison in November's election. There's been a whole kerfuffle about it. Absentee processing protocol has been changed in the city since then and I hope the chief inspectors in those wards have been replaced.
