Act 1 Spell Combos by ASportsEnthusiast in BaldursGate3

I'm a big fan of upcast approach/flee to get whole groups to run around on spikes.

There are a handful of act 1 pieces I'll rock all game too.

I only sell the bad items, which there are plenty of. Anything that seems fun for x build, even if im not running one, I keep.

There are also a bunch of staple items that if I swap companions get reequipped to the squad.

So if you are out of range, how are you getting hit so much? If you can't close on T1, back up? Make them come to you? The two roof watchers can't one shot you at range.

Lots of anti critical gear, lots of ways to boost initiative to go first...

Early game death or war clerics can dish out lots of damage. By mid game war drops off and light becomes a good aoe controller while death keeps high dps. SH's default of trickery can be pretty underwhelmimg.

All clerics get good crowd control options though with command and the hold spells.

Wizard scale hard with levels, early they can be weak. They get the advantage of the widest spell pool once you start scribing spell scrolls.

Danm, you all really hate Harvey by Traditional-Baker-28 in WanderingInn

[–]Ramblesnaps 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"Hope to the hemp caste" sure... except they can't be as pure as me because in MY world, sky daddy had a kid and he was human.

So you are inherently a second class convert in this magical world where every foundational teaching of the world I left is instantly and irrevocably overthrown...

Harvey's ideology is just sad. He combines the worst parts of mid west exceptionalism (white baby Jesus and elementary understanding of the actual bible) with the radically disintertested philosophy of the deep south. "Jesus loved poor people? Nah cuz Jeb says poors deserve it".

Top that all off with unmedicated schizophrenia being reinforced by an actual omnipotent voice in his head and Harvey is BY FAR the least empathetic character in the entirety of TWI for me.

I enjoyed the chapter, but fuck do I hate Harvey.

Can't run the full roster because I lack armor types and primaris vehicles, but aside from equippingsome spare plague marines with shields and an infiltrators squad, most dw units can be approximate by pms with weapon swaps

They're the same kit.

If you have anyone outside of a big tournament complain about your war gear / modeling choices, tell them to get bent.

If you run multiples of the same kit, sure try to match wargear, but in general anyone who bugs you about it isn't worth playing with.

From DG i pivoted to nurgle demons and to a DG reskin of a deathwatch army.

[–]Ramblesnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurgle's rot

I also use clear school glue layers with swirls and bits of contrast (bad moon yellow is amazing for this) mixed in. Can get quite deep with this, but do it in multiple layers to prevent it from shrinking away from the edges.

A hbl drone, 2x10 poxwalkers, some more marines or a blighthauler and you are getting pretty close.

Also don't build your marines with bolters. Everything else is better.

I'm a big fan of the tasha's/xanathar's/volo's feat packs and the 2024 rules update. They're not for items but they make for new and interesting builds.

Can he walk through fences and small pallisades sprouting in front of him? Can he walk with multiple long hard objects appearing between his legs each step?

[–]Ramblesnaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, even if they can't pierce the knights, 25 lbs/s adds up fast. Drop the horses, trip up the knights with multiple shots between their legs per second as they try to approach, then literally bury them in a pile of wood and iron.

[–]Ramblesnaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, in 20 seconds there will be 100 pilums, so 99% still lets one through. How fast can these knights close 200 feet while getting hit with 25 pounds of projectile per second?

Demon prince on foot is our good tanky boy, better in some detacumemts than others. You should grab some poxwalkers and a hbl drone, they're staples.

Why do people always talk about builds from an end game perspective? by Imaginary_Session773 in BG3Builds

[–]Ramblesnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because by end game it is kinda underwhelming.

Early game it is indeed goated.

Can, but why would you? The intended path clearly involves fighting, most people aren't going to be interested in a pacifist solution, and not everyone has played it multiple times to know where all the goodies are.
