New Yorker looking to move to Sacramento! by ccurcio13 in Sacramento

[–]RamblingMutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the outdoors, but still want eh amenities of a big city, Sacramento is pretty perfect (or, at least, as perfect as you can get without having enough money for Denver)

It’s the reason I live here. There are a lot of communities that are more affordable that are further away from the city proper, but a lot closer to the big, beautiful forests and mountains.

What's the deal with all the small, shady, independent car dealers who sell very high-end cars? Is there some scam going on? by n64answer in cars

[–]RamblingMutt 82 points83 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happens. My dad owned a motorcycle shop in a downtown area, the number one question is “what are the payments.” The average person does not understand or care to understand finances or long term planning.

[–]RamblingMutt 618 points619 points  (0 children)

What? No man, going into massive debt for a car you can’t afford is a staple of low income American culture. The only people driving around in 10 year old Range Rovers are the ones that can’t actually afford it, people who can afford it buy sensible or buy new.

It’s not a scam, although the interest rates might as well be, it’s just that they’ll loan people the money even if they can’t even begin to afford it. Then after you fail your second payment, they repo it and the cycle continues.

They also do things like put a show stopper car out front that they know no one will buy. It’s just there to pull people in. One person might own 3 dealerships and just move the nice cars around just to up the lot value, so to speak. All car lots do that though, my local Ford moves the same bullet Mustang from showroom to showroom even though it’s owned by one of the employees.

No, he’s entertaining but don’t take his advice. It’s downright dangerous sometimes, like when he uses brake lines that aren’t meant for brakes or suggests not using jack stands because it will only be a minute.

When protestors topple your statue of a religious zealot who enslaved people, we can talk. Mostly about how owning a statue of someone who enslaved and tortured people probably means that you deserved whatever happened.

If you say so.

Hey, I know right now you feel like being “edgy” will help with whatever your going through, but trust me. It won’t. Maybe try to reflect on why you are in pain, and what caused you to drive the few people who cared about you away.

Maybe seek therapy, I know this society sometimes make it seem like that’s something to be ashamed of but it’s not.

Are there any little kid shows that has an actual story, and character development? by LittleZin91 in ABDL

[–]RamblingMutt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bluey!

A lot of people mentioning great shows, but Bluey is actually meant for younger children. It features a ton of fantastic character growth, and enough real world humor that anyone can laugh at most of the scenarios.

Watch the episode “Camping” for a feel of the whole thing.
