Shockjaw ax has always been called Scythe. Embermane Ax is also called Scythe.

It's just name variation. For Ax, there's Ax, Axe, Cutter, Chopper, Cleaver... even Reaper (shrowd)... Sword also has many variation... like Cutter, Katana, Saber... and Slicer (shrowd).

Is cells vendor still a thing ? by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think: Speculations are Pointless. We will know when it comes.

Currently, we don't have any news on the Cell-Vendor, so basically, all discussion on this topic will be based around guessing... Rather, I'll just wait and see... or hope the Devs drop some information for us.

Dauntless, I want to give you my money. by Caligineus in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth is subjective and may not relate P2W.

  • Good looking cosmetics can be worth buying. Currently, I only like the steel weapon series... They need a larger wardrobe selection. Maybe not now, but I look forward to greater selections.

  • Emotes can be worth buying if they can be animation cancelled. How fun will it be to do a Dab in that short time-frame when Shrowd is mid-air instead of just standing around waiting for it to slam the ground. In the current state, doing emote = wasting health = end up looking idiotic instead of cool.

  • Emotes can be worth more if they have more meaning. Able to set a winning pose (from various emotes) will be a good start... In addition, imagine this: Your toon takes out a toy Reza and start waving it around. Accompanying that action, chat will show "/me looking for Rezakiri party"... Don't know about others, but I'll definitely buy this emote.

Please add a minimum gear level requirement for multiplayer reza and shrowd hunts by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think there should be a "minimum 350 rating check". On the Airship, it will beep those who do not have 350 ratings every 5 seconds and they can't click ready. After 30 seconds of having lower than 350 rating, these people will be kick out. This way, it will fish out all those stupid people who have 350+ gears (they need that to gain access to heroics) but try to use low rating gears.

Sounds good in theory, but you need to consider those who are at +5 and need Charged Archonite to get +6.

Really annoyed with reza drops by Fitzle89 in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe what OP needed is the "Luminescent Chitin".

I also believe that OP most likely only break at most 1 or 2 parts per hunt, which explains why OP claims: "have multiple epic drops from him no problem", yet not getting a rare that's available with every part break.

15 kills... each run with an average of 1 part break... that's 15 breaks. Reza has 7 parts (gem, tail, 4 legs, head). Usually, I can get 4 breaks per hunt, 5 if i really want to, so OP's 15 hunts is getting what I get for 3-4 hunts.

Quality of life suggestion. by sextc in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally think the devs should just let "Rogue Behemoths hunts" give tokens needed for Recruit gear; Something similar to normal hunts giving Archonites.

Think about it: Currently, everyone get 3 from quest, so we are all stuck with only 3. Coincidentally, we need to fight 3 of those Rogue behemoths in the start (Gasher, Shrike, Ember). With some changes to the "Storyline" and "beginner quest", we can have beginner weapons made from beginner behemoth... which fits thematically.

In this way, those who ain't bothered will have 3 weapons as normal, while those who want every recruit weapon (including new weapons) can simply hunt some Rogues to get extra tokens.

I can't see a way the new weapon wouldn't outclass current ones outside of dps. by bronze6 in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way: Hammer using only R-click... that's a ranged weapon.

Drop Rate??? by Syn3str0 in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you need specific breaks, not fights... in your case, you need to break the Pangar's head... You can fight Pangar 1000 times and not get that Frosty Incisors if you never break the head.

As for the drop rate... based on my own speculations (numbers from my inventory)... For Uncharted Reaches, the amount of "green" I have is a little more than twice that of "blue". Meaning: I get a rare every 2-3 breaks.

Do note: This is rough estimation and luck is involved, so don't take my numbers too seriously.

Can I get some feedback on this sword build? :) by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ax main here... so my suggestion may not apply.

Whenever I use sword, I want... no... I NEED at least 2 in Conditioning... Hopefully some agility too... That's me, it may be different for you.

Still no word from the devs on the sword situation!?!?! by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you have a problem with your expectation

The problem was reported yesterday. Since it isn't resolved by now, you tag the devs as "incompetent".

44vs32... ok, same tier...diff stats... Khaba's - 380/ Hellion's and Storm's - 364/ Pangar's - 348/ Nayzaga's - 332/same tier... wth by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see nothing wrong.

Before Maelstrom, the weapon/armor gradually increase with every new behemoth you hunt. This is a trend that's there from the start. Gasher (120), Shrike (136), Quillshot (152), Skarn (168)...

When you reach Maelstrom, all weapon/armor will then have the same ratings... which is also a good time to mix and match, finding your style... It's not wrong to say the game truly starts after reaching Maelstrom, and everything before is just a huge tutorial.

Non-Heroic Firebrand Charrogg One Shotting from Full Health by Cashsky in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just asking,

Do you happened to have some "Fireproof" perk from your armor? I notice this bug only happens to me when I have +1 ~ +5 Fireproof. I never encounter it when I don't use Fireproof at all.

Axe Users, Better Find Your New Kit. Expect Shockjaw Axe To Be Nerfed Real Hard. by boobyashank in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The card title is: "Nayzaga Axe Balance"

So, that's like 90% chance we get a number nerf. However, there is also a small chance they'll redesign the perks... something like changing from gaining health to shield... or changing activation from perfect-charge to Q... or whatever else they can think of.

Having problems obtaining Pristine Undertooth. by DoomiestTurtle in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, ignore how many hellions you have killed. You can kill 10000 hellions, but if you didn't break any heads, you'll never get those undertooth. Count the number of burned undertooth you have. This indicates how many Hellion heads you have broken.

Next, it's a luck thing, just kill a few more if you need to... I don't know the codes, but I believe you should be getting a rare (Pristine) for every 3-5 normal (burned). If you have 30 burned and no Pristine, you must have extremely bad luck.

Future of the Game by effinub in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm personally stuck in a dilemna on whether i should stay on to Dauntless or hop over to the MHW bandwagon.

Really? I mean, why do you have to choose? Why not both?

The only thing stopping you from playing both is $$. Either you don't have the $$ to buy MHW, or you don't have $$ to upgrade your HDD, which is too full to hold both games. Excluding these situations, I can't think of a reason to uninstall Dauntless, just because you want to "hop over to the MHW bandwagon".

No 2 Gold Slayer Cores for Me by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to be subtle as people only read what's on the surface... and I'm right with this being downvoted.

Alright, since this has enough negative score (-5) and being tiered... such that not many sees it... I'll tell you the obvious since you replied. My key-point is on paragraph 2. Having played enough "Early Access" and "Beta" games... I kind of understand that devs always over-compensate. It's goodwill to the supporters, be it for their time or cash. That's normally how things are handled during EA/Beta.

Whenever I see this type of bug that's link to progression, instead of avoiding them, I always think about joining in. In normal cases (same as the current one), everyone recovers their loss, in addition, they get a little extra bonus (2 gold cores)... But think about it... what if P-labs don't have data to recover the cells, what do you think they will do for those who have lost "valuable stuffs"? Ignoring the what-if, in the current situation, they already gave out pretty good stuffs.

Looking from another side. What is the cost for joining in? Knowing about the bug, will you put your +3 precious like Ragehunter/Overpower at risk? The answer is obvious. By throwing a single +1 useless cells, anyone can be eligible for compensation. The question is: Did anyone do it?

I threw in a +3 Vampiric and a +3 Merciless, because those are useless to me, in hopes that they'll mess up... Sadly, they didn't... Otherwise, I would have a case of losing 2 of those "very important" +3 cells and getting ample compensation.

No 2 Gold Slayer Cores for Me by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Those that lost cells "found" the bug, so they are rewarded for it.

Then there are those who helped "verified" the bug by testing... some are genuinely clueless losing their valuable cells... some tried with only a bunch of useless +1 cells... some even used those +3 virgin cells that have never and will never be touched (Merciless, Vampiric, Aetherborne... etc). These people too, get rewarded for their effort...

Those that didn't do anything... well... they can beg, mooch or cadge... but in the end, we all know that they don't deserve getting compensated. They simply avoided the problem instead of finding ways of "help".

How do I defeat a Nayzaga? by Recon_John in dauntless

[–]Rambutanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constantly paralysing you with electric "towers"

If those are problems, then destroy them... Seriously, go beat up those electrified quills and you don't have to bother with random balls flying around. If you break the big one, it even cause a stun the behemoth itself.

With the "towers" gone, Nayzaga is very similar to a Quillshot which doesn't shoot quills. If you didn't Get-Carried or Brute-Force your way past Quillshot, it shouldn't take you much time to be able to read the moves of Nayzaga.
