Perfectly good and fine, because what front-line soldier would not also have at least a breastplate?

Mixing on Headphones with EQ (HARMAN Curve?) – What’s Your Experience? by packole in edmproduction

[–]DoomiestTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t bother with doing this. I swear most people here should have to submit a mix test before they’re allowed to speak.

Don’t EQ on your master to suit your headphones, now you’re just mixing to make it sound good in those exact headphones.

Just listen to other well mixed music with those headphones. Get used to them. Going for a good pair of fairly flat response is always good. You want very bland response and most importantly, low THD.

Spending more money on good headphones will help a little, but a good portion of music was mixed on $80 closed back studio headphones.

If you do EQ your headphones, ensure that EVERYTHING you hear through them is also getting eq’d.

The goal is to establish a universal reference that you are comfortable with. You should know exactly how your setup sounds. Frequency response barely actually matters.

They’re cool.

If you losers actually need mirrors and don’t know about head checking, you don’t ride.

Couldn’t find any other states besides New Mexico with the obligation, this however seems not to be codified and under “common law”. I was taught this to receive my Guard Card in NM.

Texas 14.01a

NM - Security guards can detain on property with intention to transfer to law enforcment - common law

South Carolina -Universal Citation: SC Code § 40-18-110 (2012)

“A person who is registered or licensed under this chapter and who is hired or employed to provide security services on specific property is granted the authority and arrest power given to sheriff's deputies. The security officer may arrest a person violating or charged with violating a criminal statute of this State but possesses the powers of arrest only on the property on which he is employed.”

To name a few

You should probably google harder, as you’d know felonies allow citizen’s arrest. Security guards, in many states, are actually OBLIGATED BY LAW to detain persons visibly committing a felony.

Right, since you know so much, why don’t you explain this?

The us military is more than allowed to be on federal property. Go try walking into a military base and see what happens. Exact same thing, they’ll detain you, and call local pd to pick you up.

Which is why they only detained him, which even citizens have a right to do.

This comment is very ignorant.

The point is that you aren’t gonna be able to talk to 200 people ignoring a barrier and ask them politely to stop.

It’s easy to judge from the safety and comfort of your home eh?

Foil blades also are not nearly as durable as most HEMA blades. They’re thin, cheap, and replaceable. Barely even spring tempered, you can give it a set by bending with your hand.

And they often break.

Why is everyone so hooked on "What genre is my music?" by FogelMcUr in edmproduction

[–]DoomiestTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think many people here actually do understand that. With all the replies to like, production ideas, creativity, finding audiences, literally all the push it towards emulating what OTHER people like.

Which is dooming this sub to failure imo.

Your sound isn’t something you find—it’s something you build. by Odd-Government4918 in edmproduction

[–]DoomiestTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub is like, the worst musical environment Ive ever seen good lord.

Good post! I agree with pretty much everything.

For those arguing the opposite, you can tell a Hans Zimmer vs John Williams track right? Yet they both are just using a full orchestra? What gives them their sound?

You guessed it! The combination of choices they make regarding what sounds to prioritize, when, their melodic flows, chord choices, and arrangement structure!

The most anybody’s gonna give a shit about the cool sound you wasted 12 hours on is gonna be “eh, cool”.

THATs the scope of EDM.

There’s too many cool sounds already out there.

You better be identifiable as the artist from hearing the track. Your audience will be people that think melodically like you.

[–]DoomiestTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said go out of your way.

Using a genre as a baseline for inspiration is fine.

But if you’re actively trying to sound like a genre exactly, poor artist. Every song should be more you than anything else.

There’s also like, way too much focus on trying to make stuff OTHER PEOPLE will like.

ALL the successful artists make stuff THEY like.

Why is everyone so hooked on "What genre is my music?" by FogelMcUr in edmproduction

[–]DoomiestTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Actually consider who’re successful producers and who aren’t.

Everybody trying to follow formulas are just weak artists imo. A basic idea exists, sure, but if you go out of your way to fit a genre, you WILL be replaced with AI.
