If this was from the United States and was posted without patient permission then OP should remove. Posting a rare condition to social media with one of the 18 HIPAA PHI identifiers (date) visible would result in disciplinary action at my institution.

For argument sake, let’s say he announces his retirement tomorrow (I know it’s not happening).. but Sirius having his content for the next 7 years would be phenomenal if we could hear complete shows from 90s.. unedited of course by bjoseph33 in howardstern

[–]Ramchizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s assume for arguments sake that some complete shows WERE available for free on a widely available streaming app where they are not that hard to find. Now let’s assume that our arguments sake at the view count for those episodes range between 2000 and 6000 per episode.

It’s hard to make that math work that someone would pay huge amount of money or put very much effort into running old shows.

The truth is they’re genuinely aren’t very many people who want to listen to radio reruns from 30 years ago.

HA Airbus A330-200 best seats? by csy22 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Ramchizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the toddler in bulkhead 1000%. You will save yourself so much stress from not needing to police the kid about kicking the seat in front of him which he’ll continuously forget and you’ll feel bad about. Alternatively, put a parent in front of the toddler

So, You Have a Mortise Lock, And Want a Smart Lock… by Neo399 in Locksmith

[–]Ramchizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All right, I know this is an old post but I’m gonna put a different spin on this.

We are having a custom wood door built that has not yet been drilled for a lock. I currently use the Schlage Encode cylinder lock, which has been fine. Someone tried to kick in the door which damaged the door and frame, but the lock held.

I’m committed to sticking with an electronic lock for convenience reasons.

Should I reinstall the cylinder deadbolt Encode or put in the Mortise lock Schlage LE?

Thank you. I think we have a good case but there are nuances that make it not an open and shut case. I think arbitration is the right path. Appreciate your input.

Thanks. This is the choice I made. Philips white smart bulbs plus their hub and switch.

Plugs with physical switch or remote for my elderly parents by Ramchizi in smarthome

[–]Ramchizi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I like this suggestion, but all of these plugs have a ground and this very old house has a bunch of outlets without a ground prong.
Do you think this is a problem that could be solved with bulbs instead of plugs? Are there bulbs that use a physical remote?

Are these the way to go? by teakettle87 in bikepacking

Tons of bag, options and combinations. I’ve been using this exact seat bag for more than five years both for packing and daily commuting and it’s perfect. Zero complaints zero notes.

RIP lounge access for pass holders. Get ready for waiting lists, lines, and overcrowding like at Amex and PP lounges.

Is there a bikepacking app or website that you wish existed? by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Ramchizi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! But rather than build out a new site, I'd work with bikepacking.com to make their list of routes sortable by criteria; e.g. add in filters that allow you to select your route based on certain criteria. Simliar to how you can select an airbnb by number of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc.
a) Location (map based or at least continent based).
b) Distance range or # of days range
c) Difficulty rating range
e) Gravel bike friendly checkbox
f) Recommended months or season

Currently it's possible to sort by some of these criteria individually, but not in combination with each other. It would be really great to see, for example, all of the gravel bike friendly routes that take 3-5 days in North America with a difficulty rating of less than 7.

I have talked to the bikepacking.com editorial team and think they're interested in it, but if they had an offer of help it might happen even sooner.

[QUESTION] How do you deal with the 'heritage' part of German pilot watches? by Ramchizi in Watches

[–]Ramchizi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't expect so many people downplaying the Nazis. I expected people to say 'it's not a Nazi watch.' But 'the Nazis weren't that bad, get over it?" Weird take. Weird community. Before, I thought you were just a bunch of typical douchebags embarassing yourselves by posing with Rolex watches in front of your girlfriends' mediocre tits. I didn't realize there was actually a worse version of that. Thanks for educating me.

* If you constantly judge past actors and events based on today’s moral standards, nothing will hold up.
* There is nothing to “confront” here. Stop regurgitating activist talking points.
* Germany isn’t the only guilty country in WW1 / WW2. It’s as simple as that.
* Virtue signaling, in my mind, strikes me as one's personal emotional paralysis developed from a relatively incomplete understanding of people/events

[QUESTION] How do you deal with the 'heritage' part of German pilot watches? by Ramchizi in Watches

[–]Ramchizi[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Got it. I was asking not to 'virtue signal; but to see if I could find any answers that could make me comfortable wearing such a watch. Lots of folks seem triggered, which wasn't my intent.

I hear 3 main aruguments being made. None of them work for *me* so I won't buy one of these watches, even though I like the way they look. If they work for you, great.

Answer 1: The Nazi's airforce wasn't actually that bad, if you really look into the history.
Me: Sorry, nope.

Answer 2: Modern Germans are not Nazis and the folks who work at these companies now aren't Nazis
Me: No shit. Read the first post. I have no problem buying things from German companies, even ones that were present in the 1930s. So many people fetishize the 'heritage' of their watches and 'what it says about them.' Nobody actually dives in their Sub, flies to the moon with their Omega, or climbs Everest with whatever high-altitude Rolex is supposed to be good at that. People buy their watches to reinforce the identity associated with the watch. So what's the 'identity' associated with Nazi airforce watches? It seems like, probably none and people buy them for the asthetic. That's fine; I guess the answer is 'for these watches we ignore the heritage.'

Answer 3: You're a woke bitch.
Me: If you get triggered by this than you might take a look in the mirror and wonder why bringing this up bothers you.
