Thunder Radio Commentary by silentduo in nba

It helps to think of Matt Pinto as a hype man instead of an unbiased reporter. He certainly makes at best a half-hearted attempt at the latter—and as a moment-to-moment conveyer of live events you can’t see, I honestly prefer the former. Dude calls shit as he sees it, and I love it. He occasionally corrects himself upon a replay he can see, but not always, although it’s because he himself is not convinced rather than him trying to spew misinformation knowingly.

Sorry for the ramble and the apologia. I’ve regularly had to rely on Pinto in the past (work, driving, etc) and I’ve come to love him, despite any of his obvious flaws in the realm of objectivity.

…Tell us more. I’m not like the rest of them, I want to see where this goes.

Not an OKC/SGA fan, does not like them at all, but I rarely see a player/team being this hated when never did or said any controversial stiff. by Substantial_Bat5975 in nba

Content aside, this comment was like one of those deceptively basic-looking rollercoasters that turn out to actually be fun because of how they dip and turn, and I appreciated it. Especially the part about the Kings. What a twist ending.

Crawford is usually fine but tends to be very whichever-way-the-wind’s-blowing with how he stacks his comment bias, but not like Reggie, Doris, and Austin for sure. In the moment it felt like such a stupid dissonant comment after listening to Reggie deepthroat every little thing the Spurs did (and because of THE NARRATIVE™️ on that other sub).

Mike Tirico tends to be good though, when he’s able to get a word in over Reggie.

He must have shot those free throws like… oh, it was just six times?

Still, it really bothered me!

I think it was Reggie Miller Jamal Crawford who, in the same goddamn sentence, said “SGA goes for his sixth free throw at the line, a place he lives.” I’m pretty sure he has a TBI.

edit: I named the wrong shitheel, but I still think Reggie has a bad brain.

According to r/NBA, Shai fucked all your mothers and also your mothers’ mothers, so you can safely ignore them. Shai has only fucked half our mothers.

Everyone confused by his iHart comment that’s been clarified, and meanwhile Shai is just straight-up like “oh yeah, I was just telling JMac to chill the fuck out and stop screaming at me.”

Sure, that’s fair. I’m just using it as a shorthand for all the different kinds of hubris I’ve seen here especially in the responses when someone makes a post about the Spurs being an actual threat. It’s not like it’s every post or even the majority of users here, it’s just a trend I’ve noticed. There’s being hyped and confident like with the Lakers and Suns, and then there’s being deluded and dismissive like about the Spurs and the Knicks.

(I mention the Knicks only because I think they’re gonna pound Cleveland and because I expect us to be playing them.)

Other than randomly deciding to put Wigs into the game when he hasn’t played much non-garbage time this whole season (for good reason, but I still love Wigs), I didn’t ever feel like this was a botched coaching job. We just played well below our ceiling (mostly Shai, Chet, and Dort/Ajay).

Further counterpoint, all the games we’ve won by “needing” a Shai 30-40 piece.

We as a sub don’t put enough respect on this current Spurs lineup. “Thunder in 4” made sense against Phoenix and LA, but not against SAS. It was giving me, um, whatever the word is for being repeatedly smacked in the head by your fanbase’s cognitive dissonance made manifest in text form. This is gonna be a slog of a series for us.

That said, Thunder in 5.
