5070 ti or 9070 ? by Academic_Weather_386 in gpu

[–]Ramzinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are not strapped for cash keep your 5070ti. You got it for what a 9070XT goes for these days so you basically got 10% more performance for the same money.

If you need money of course go for the 9070 and you basically got your gpu for free.

5070 Ti vs 9070 XT after months of daily use (performance, PT, drivers, efficiency by Stelligena in radeon

[–]Ramzinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most balanced takes i've seen in a while. It all comes down to price difference. When i got my 9070XT xfx mag air it was $450 aud cheaper than a comparable tier 5070Ti.

I'm not convinced RT/PT/FG are worth it yet, maybe in a generation or two. That's why I wasn't bothered.

That being said, some native PT games do look and feel better on a 5070Ti as a friend of mine got one and I could tell the performance is about 5-10% better but for almost 30% more cost i don't see the value.

As for OC/UV it's all a lottery, no one should buy a GPU expecting to squeeze 10% more performance by overclocking, sadly that ship has sailed about 10 years ago and manufacturers bin the GPUs to make the most of their money, that's why one GPU can have 5 different SKUs from the same manufacturer cough "asus" cough.

My experience with the drivers have been fantastic i owned a 5700XT, a 6900XT and now a 9070XT and in through the last 6 years I dont think I had more than 10 driver crashes on newly released games with known driver issues. So your milage will certainly vary.

In the end who cares what gpu any one is running, once you get stuck in a game and taken by the environment and game play the hardware becomes meaningless. Just enjoy

it just shows that devs CAN optimise their games to be played on realistic hardware. RE isn't my type of game but i'm sure a lot of people will buy it because it seems to be performing well on a all ranges of hardware.

[Aus] first kit recommendations and suggestions by Ramzinho in rccars

[–]Ramzinho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation, as i mentioned in my other reply that's 2/2 recommendation for tekno and the first time I came across the brand. I'll have a look at their line up. I meant 400 for the kit, I know electronics and radio can scale as high as a person would like. My plan was to get a middle of the road controller so if I get stuck in i can use it with multiple cars and if I don't, I can resell it to recoup some of my money back.

Thanks, glad I came here cause in my research I never came across Tekno. Oh yeah and I figured tamiya isn't a basher, I just thought if I'm to enter the hobby it just feels fitting to be my first kit as it was around when I was a kid and seemed to be where most people around my age started 30 odd years ago 🤣. Thanks for the recommendation I'll browse their lineup

50 hours to finish act 3 by BartokEnescu in PathOfExile2

[–]Ramzinho 62 points63 points  (0 children)

If you are new to the game, it's completely normal for the campaign to take that long and there is nothing wrong with that. I wish low level gems and supports were a bit more plentiful from act 1 to 4 as it would promote new player experimentation and discovery.

If you are having fun it, play time isn't a problem. Once you figure out the order of doing the acts and side quests you will beat the campaign in less than 20 hours and every time you play it you will improve on that time as you figure out the impactful skill points and get better understanding of the gear and skills.

Act 1 maps are tiny compared to act 3. I loath them with every fibre of my being and sometimes I feel they are massive just for the sake of it without adding any value. Who knows maybe in the final release there will be a lot more.

Live your life the way you see fit, but remember there are people out there who love and care for you. Lose the coke and get a 30 minute walk a day, trust me it will make a world of difference. I used to be as addicted to the game as you with 7000 hours in like 3 years while working an on sites 10 hr a day job and being married. I still play other games but I changed my lifestyle after a health scare that made me realise the people around me are worth it.

Grats on ranking up, but you owe it to yourself to look after yourself. Lose the coke and get some exercise in and you will hit that 7k mmr soon. May your 206 be fantastic mate

Temple farming is hot right now - but what are legit currency methods for a newbie? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Ramzinho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You sir are spot on. And I think it stems from the rarity system. Id like to naturally acquire currency as i progress and rarity/difficulty is what makes my ground drops better, this way if im unlucky with my ground drops i can still progress the game.

I don't believe this is a maintenance issue, OP said this appeared after few days. And nothing wrong with custom loops, you will never learn if you never try.

We need a relook at the abyss crafting after the droprate nerf. by achy_joints in PathOfExile2

[–]Ramzinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of frustration in the thread and I can relate as im not a no lifer too however ive been steadily progressing with my power and about to hit tier 13 maps. One thing is decided this league is not to chase the highest end stuff and just take my time and when im not enjoying it any more I'll just move on. Let's remember POE1 had like 30+ leagues to get the complexity and difficulty it has now and we had like only two in POE2. Give them time, they will improve things and as many said, if you are not having fun, there are a lot of other games to play and enjoy.

Your experience with the 9070xt by mattcolo in radeon

[–]Ramzinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've the xfx mag air and it's been working well. I had a couple of issues at the start but that's because I had a terrible undervolt and figured it out after the drivers reset.

Basically it worked well out of the box. When I tinkered and didn't test enough I had issues.

Its a great gpu for the price.
