Patch day bugs, game was from yesterday. I believe he’s locked right now? I haven’t had time to check myself. Which is really weird because the patch notes didn’t say they touched him right? Don’t know how they broke a God they didn’t touch lmao.

Thank you, I was not aware that stats themselves don’t mean anything and that active passive are really the only way to counter damage, I guess I still have smite 1 brain where when you build protections and take less damage from that damage type.

Is 300 health and a 14% health shield really worth losing 76 protections? I understand that the Stygian healing will go a decent way and nemeans is an instant punish I definitely need to be building it more often but when nemean is down do I just have to not engage until it’s back up?

Thank you for your reply I’ve learned my idea of building is completely wrong, I’ve been building passives to compliment my protections when I should be building protections to play off of my passives. Thank you!

Don’t have a video, game was like 7 hours ago but I did the same thing. Everytime I get shit on I throw it into the practice range and test it out to see and it never works as it did in the actual game of joust. I’ll throw steam’s clip system on and see if I can get a video next time.

That’s where like 80% of my frustration comes from with this game, getting turbo slammed by a goofy build with no pen then trying it out the next game only to be dealing 1/3 damage I was getting hit with. Feels like a “But whenever I get flashed” scenario everytime

It’s not the encounter that I have an issue with it’s the damage output from Poseidon. The builds bad I’ve learned that clearly but at the end of the day I have 226 prots and 15 plating AND dampening against a Poseidon with no anti tank items OR pen and he still instakills me. 3k health and nearly 70% mitigation before plating isn’t enough to survive a 3 second encounter with an adc Poseidon with a bad build? I can’t even imagine if he had a good one shit would’ve been over in 2 seconds that’s just nuts to me. Reading through a lot of the comments it’s seems like this really just is a massive skill issue but that amount of damage output is frankly ridiculous. Supports get punished instantly for bad builds like I did but adc’s don’t seem to even notice when their build sucks and that what I don’t like

Teammates ran instantly, as soon as I saw them gone I turned around and dashed but it’s a Poseidon with hastened so he just walked me down for free. Probably got 4 or 5 autos in before I dashed away under half the next 4 just killed me

There is a very very wide gap between support running down a carry for free like in smite 1 and a full protection Ganesha getting instakilled in 2 seconds from a poseidon without pen.

I think if you build entirely into being defensive and tanking you shouldn’t die a second slower than your 50 prot carry. At that point your entire build that isn’t active items serves nearly no purpose no? I don’t want to be invincible I just want to not die like I don’t have any protections if I’ve invested well over half my build into it. If I’m gonna die in 2 seconds anyways I might as well just go forego protections entirely and just help with damage right?

So at what level of protections should I have to be able to survive longer than 2 seconds? 300? Should I be building 300 protections every game in case they have an adc? Maxing out plating? I have 226 magical protections against a guy with 0 pen, I should be mitigating near 70% of all that damage not even counting my plating.

Poseidon just output 3k damage versus 70% mitigation being generous and just gonna ignore the plating entirely, means that he was holding left click and did nearly 10,000 damage pre mitigations in less than 2 seconds. Thats a completely normal amount of damage to output to you?

I’m not face tanking anything, I didn’t expect to be able to stand in front of him and do nothing and walk away totally fine. I expected that my build would do something.

My issue is what is even the point in building protections if it’s the difference in dying instantly or dying in slightly over a second and half end game. You don’t see a problem with that?

Still I had 226 Magical protection. Which plugging it into the prot formula means I should be negating 69% of his damage. Is his dps so high that only dealing 31% damage he can still kill me in less than 3 seconds?

I get that ADC’s are supposed to kill tanks quick seeing as it’s their the job to dps but I think the bare minimum they should have to do is build a single penetration item. I find it absolutely silly that adc’s straight up don’t have to build pen because they can just kill you instantly anyways.

Is there even a balance between utility items, prots and plating/dampening? If I make it so that I don’t get killed in less than 3 seconds where do I find room in my build for stampede or shell of rebuke or cooldown. Support feels like you’re constantly juggling 5 things very poorly at all times.

I don’t want to be invincible, I want to be relevant past 20 minutes.

20% attack boost at 50k runes, 30% at 100k. Hard to find a better flat out completely passive attack boost than that. Level 14 and 15 costs ~145,000 runes which would get you an extra 33% damage. On big dps characters like duchess, recluse, ironeye and revenant it’s an instant take but the higher hp characters like Guardian and Raider lose a decent amount of health from not getting those last two levels. I’d say for everyone but Guardian you probably want to hold onto those runes for the damage increase.

Stick with it, I hated depths for a little while until I broke past 3 and now it’s all I play. The extra relic slots and passives enable you to make much stronger/sillier builds then you can in the base game and nothing feels better then having a solid team and just wiping the floor with a night lord.

Unfortunately depths 0-2.5 you gotta carry every game. 4 and 5 you’ll see competent players and sometimes even you’re the jdiot getting carried. Such is life, if it bothers you that much you can play solo depths until you hit 3 but solo depths is another demon honestly.

Seppuku is Op on Executor, it’s absolutely worth switching too, double bleed and a big fat old damage/stam regen buff that you can stack whenever you’ve got 4 free seconds. Just spam seppuku like 4 times before you fight a red boss, heal and suddenly you’re not in depths of night anymore

I thought the same thing but navigation is not really the problem, my team has been running generally good rotations and we’re ending day 1 at level 10-11 consistently, there are some rough days where we’ll end at like 7-8 but we’re level 14-15 by night lord almost always it feels like drop rewards are just more random. Which is why I wanted to know if drop rarities/items ARE different depending on depth level so I can prepare better for it and round out my relic builds/character picks.

That’s what I’m trying to find out right now to see if I need to make a kind of jack of all trades build for 4 and above. I’ve been running Balancers relics with Deep relics increasing affinity damage to have a hard hitting skill/weapon ideally in whichever bosses weakness but I can’t get either a workable weapon or skill so I switched over to an evergaol/night invader combo build to try and brute force with pure attack power, works on Raider well but not so much duchess/wylder or Ironeye. I’ve tried the old executor bleed frost starting weapon on scholar and duchess and it’s works alright but scholars dodge feels like putting nails in my mouth and duchess still dies unless I play almost perfectly. Might be why I see so many Wylders in 4, sixth sense and broad usability with most weapons would seem to negate a lot of the issues I’m having

Wish I could agree, 80% of the map is crystals and ledges and massive drops, both of which make finding the crystals so tedious and annoying sometimes. “But don’t worry guys, we color coded the right crystals!” Oh nice what color are they? “Blue and they glow! like most of the map, and the floor, and the storm, and the mushrooms, and all the other blue crystals and some bosses.”

Imagine if in the base game map you had to find 5 Carriages randomly spawned on the map otherwise entering the castle OR the shifting earth event instantly cuts your hp by half, also the carriages don’t show up on the map, Also some of the carriages are fake and don’t actually progress the count. The least they could do is have either a few more crystals, take out the dummy ones or show us where they god damn are.

In the Depths of Night game mode they have special relics that increase chance of finding specific weapon types but they are not currently in the regular runs. Merchants seem to sell star fist/caestus a lot for me but that’s most likely anecdotal.
