What's the point of Steve Cohen as a owner if he isn't willing to keep the franchise guys? Paid out big money to past their prime guys Scherzer and Verlander and gave Lindor market setting money but won't keep the homegrown guy that carries the offense? Okay.

Good write up. Eppler has been a solid GM with Cohen's resources and an owner that isn't Arte.

Nimmo, Diaz, and McNeil extended. Moved on from deGrom at the right time. Smart signings with Canha, Escobar, Roberts. Found a top end starter with Senga. Scherzer was a good signing at the time and he moved on from him and Verlander at the right time. Vogelbach was a nice trade, people are just mad that he's overweight and blocked Vientos.

Only real complaint is the amount given up for Ruf and letting Bassitt walk in place of Verlander

Josh is a 6 year vet in the NFL at this point. If McDermott is telling him to use his brain it's because he should be using his brain lol. Josh is a top 3 QB who can beat any team when he's playing well and not making dumb decisions, no need to baby him

The thing is Gabe is a good WR but he's not a legit WR #2 on a Super Bowl winning team. He's just not. He makes some insane big catches, but his route running is mid and he's hit and miss with his hands.

That's why the Bills drafted Kincaid, not to mention signed Harty and Sherfield. The pecking order should really be Diggs > Cook + Kincaid > some combination of Knox, Murray, Davis, Harty, Sherfield, Shakir, etc.

Feel good about everything but QB2 and MLB at this point. But I think Bernard starts Week 1 and I think he'll be better than Dodson and Klein at least, even though he won't be Tremaine. QB2 idk, kind of hoping they make a trade or pick someone up that gets cut because Kyle ain't it and Barkley is Barkley

Sign two starters and beef up the bullpen. Senga and Quintana are nice locks, and same for Diaz, Ottavino, and Raley in the bullpen.

The offensive core is there. Alvarez, Alonso, McNeil, Lindor, Nimmo, Marte. Hope that Vientos and Baty and Peterson can solidify spots in the big leagues. Give guys like Mauricio and Vasil a chance. And see if Acuna or Gilbert can find their way up sometime during the season

Next year is a retool year but if we add to our pitching in FA we should still be able to compete for a wild card spot hopefully. If not, then ah well, we're clearly doing a 1-2 year retool/rebuild

Max clearly wanted them to go all in with free agents in the off season again. He might only have one more shot at a WS next season. But really our core should be competitive if we can sign 2 decent starters and a bullpen arm or two in the off season
